in the past couple months i've pretty much run dead even with everything i've raced in the mustang
60's chevelle wagon with a 383 vortec and bolt ons, raced twice, neither pulled away, 1st run was up over 120mph (before tuning)
C4 with some mods (dont know what) stayed dead even from a 60 roll (before tuning)
2 05 mustang GTs one from a 70ish roll, one from a 50 roll, neither pulled away (before tuning)
GTP with intake, 3" exhaust, ECU reflash, from a 50 roll, i put 2 lengths on him
SRT4, dunno about mods, from a 40 roll (2nd) into 4th, dead even
i've stayed even pace with a couple of LT1s as well
all of these runs save for the GTP were with all my tools (and system) in the back as well
finally put an LS1 in to my bag of ties
raced a really clean SS sat night, he had his girlfriend with him, i had mine, her best friend and all my tools (2 boxes) in my car
we went from a 40 roll, i hit 2nd and we were dead even, i hit 3rd really quick (paranoid about 2-3 shifts) and we were still even, my girlfriend was freaking out (camaro girl) we let off somewhere in 3rd because of traffic at the top of the hill, yes it was on a hill
we've been eyeing this car for months, the thing is pimp, we pulled over and all he admitted to was an intake and true duals, said it had like 120k on it, i was like yah.....185k on mine
his jaw hit the floor
i've never been able to stay that close with an LS1 before, when i first got my car (50hp and quite a bit of weight, ago) one put a couple lengths on me probably
another weekend update
thursday: the guy who got me in to racing 4 years ago, was the ringleader of the street racing around here back then, hardly see him anymore, car used to be his racer, now its his daily driver, integra GS-R, even has stock exhaust on it now
still has a body kit, wing, euro lights and all that crap from when it was cool back then
well it was a 70+ run and i walked away
FRIDAY NIGHT:
LT1 Z28, modded, but dont know what, said "rollin smoke" on rear window, sure smelled like it too, lol
from about 40ish to about 80 maybe, dead even till i let off, i think i would've pulled on him slightly had we gone further but i couldnt see what was ahead (cops?)
he was alone and i had 2 girls and 2 tool boxes with me
SATURDAY NIGHT:
LS1 anniv Trans Am, 3rd time we raced since i've had this car
1st time (year ago), he was stock, had 2 guys with him, they thought they beat a V8 turbo and were all proud till i told em it was a 2.3, i had my girl, a system and 2 tool boxes with me, he put 2 lengths on me maybe
2nd time a couple months later, i had all the same crap plus a 230lb friend, he was alone and got a programmer, he put maybe 4 lengths on me
3rd time (sat night), sounded like he had more done and had one guy with him
i had 2 girls, 2 tool boxed and a 20lb bag of dog food! lol, i've also picked up a lot of power and shed a lot of car weight since the first race
same place i raced the SS last weekend, we has at my door when we started and i was at his rear bumper when we let off, so maybe a car length??
i never thought i'd hang with LS1s in this car
it was weird racing KT, back when i was 16 we'd stoplight race anyone, then we raced this white integra and got it handed to me in my old black V6 ranger (anyone remember that POS?) that was the first time i ever got "beat" in that truck and i didnt win another race for a year i think :haha:
