ok so i didnt crash ^_^

karen suggested we go for a back hwy sunday drive, we usually go westward and south but i was thinking about north east towards eureka...but once again, been there done that

so i spot the national forest off hwy 16 on the map and it looked appealing so we head out 16 and i was thinking how cool it would be to drive the pig trail sometime, and we were talking about how it is rated one of the top 5 roads in the country for spirited driving and such

so we get to our turn and like a mile down the road i see this

:lust: sweet

man that road was wicked, lots of fun, we were gonna turn back towards 71 about half way down but realized we were so close to I-40 we might as well keep going so, but i had stopped to make sure on the map and man my brakes were stinkin!!

i hadnt done any hard braking at all but they werent enjoying themselves, i've got the smallest most insufficient brakes that ever came on a foxbody save for the drilled rotors (probably cracked now)

i didnt really push it too hard (being the first time) but i kept pace with a guy on a crotch rocket in front of me who was just cruising, never got over 90 (straights)

we hit I40 and took that over to old 71 and ripped that up too, it was kinda fun but its so damn bumpy and horribly maintained that i was afraid to push it for fear of hitting a bump on the apex of a corner

we filled up before we left and again as soon as i got back, used 5 gallons and went 140 miles, got 26mpg :yahoo:

$20 wasnt bad for like 4 hours of entertainment

lol, i can't believe your just now discovering it. perhaps you should try deals gap, 318 curves in 11 miles. its a million times better than the pig trail.
