Can anyone recommend a good shop around here for getting a body kit painted and a shop for getting it fitted? Also which is the best order to do it in? (i.e. get it painted first then fitted or fitted first then painted?)

D&M Enterprises in Farmington (my girl's family's shop)

Free estimates

they estimated my friends 240sx, color change from white to metal. blue, body kit installed, and even some minor shaving for $1800 :o

they are really good, a guy in a porsche boxster rolled in one day with front end damage, said "i heard you are the best, fix it." handed Dave the keys and left ^_^

So what's the best order? Painted then fitted or fitted then painted?

Test fit it first to make sure there are no defects in it and make slight adjustments to it, then if it fits good, take it off and have it painted right away, then reinstall it.

No driving around with a primered bodykit for a year or two! :rice:

Check the fitment if it is a RAW kit, meaning it is straight out of the mold. (Isn't smoothed out) ...If it ISN'T raw, you can check fitment if you're wearing gloves.. Otherwise the oils from your hands may cause problems later on during the paint process. If you can't get gloves, take it to the place that is painting it and have them check fitment before you get it painted.. But ALWAYS check fitment.. You might've gotten the wrong kit and you won't know it until it is painted your nectarine orange and you're sitting in the driveway trying to figure out why your sideskirts are a foot too short..

But yes, check fitment THEN paint.

My dad picked up his paint, French Blue, for $60 a gallon. Got the kit prepped and painted, clearcoated for another $60. BDP & I installed it = FREE. Kit was $700 shipped. So, yeah the kit cost $820 altogether. Only $15 more than the rims. Not bad! ...I'd go for installing it yourself unless you absolutely cannot or do not trust yourself to do it...

Otherwise..

Go to Patrick's suggestion, I've heard that they are good.

I'm just getting a front lip so any general idea of how much it would cost at D&M?

ask for dave, tell him your a member of OnTheLoose and you know karen and i and terry

ask for a ball park figure for mounting a lower valance and painting it, you could also go out there and get a free estimate, its only 10-15 minutes from the mall
