Whats up people, my name is Jonah, I drive a silver 97 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro. I know some of you on here already, but this is my first post. I figured sharing pictures of my latest project would be a good ice breaker!

The project is the exhaust I recently build for my ride. Its fully mandrel-bent, I just ordered the bends and sectioned the exhaust together. Its a catless full turbo-back, 3" from the turbo for about 1 foot, where it reduces to 2.5" for the rest of the downpipe and system. I has a magnaflow resonator and a oval magnaflow rear muffler, with custom Y and 3" tips made from stainless steel pipe. It took me about 2 days to build, and i'm very pleased with the result. Mellow tone that turns aggressive when boost comes, and cruising in 5th gear its nearly as quiet as stock.

The downpipe in progress.

Downpipe near completion. The space was tight so the DP had to snake around alot, thus all the different bends sectioned together.

DP finished, wrapped in ThermoTec header wrap.

The system.

Complete.

Now that the project is finished, i'll be out cruising again. Looking forward to seeing some of you on the street.

Yeah, i used a hobart MIG welder. The exhaust is entirely custom, i figured i could build something just as good as the aftermarket exhausts costing $600+, and do it for half the cost.

Thanks B) I've just been lending my services to my friends rides for now, but i've considered doing some exhaust fab work for pay after UofA lets out for summer.

Let me just tell everyone now that this thing sounds awesome!! It's got a really deep note, yet has no drone to it at all. Just let me know when your ready to make mine! We need to get a parts list going so i can start collecting things :maliwho:

That's cool, but did it help with the power at all?

It sure did. I should have included pictures of the weak ass stock downpipe and exhaust for comparison, and that question would have answered itself. Turbo spool is near instant, and the car has more pick-up anywhere you mash the throttle. Plus, at cruising speed it requires much less throttle to maintain speed and accelerate in a high gear.

Ah ok, i wasnt expecting a colliers vehicle. I tend to be oblivious to people waving at me from in cars unless its a car i already recognize or a modded one that catches my attention. :))
