Plymouth Laser

A couple of weeks ago I was out cruising with my friends and some guy in a modded Plymouth Laser comes up and goes flying by. I wanted to race him but we didn't really reach any lights at the same time and by then I had turned around and gone back the other direction. Anyways it was navy blue and sounded like he had completely removed the muffler. Anyone seen this or know who the guy is? :surp:

If it was an older guy driving it then it was Bill Sims. We talked to the guy when Lazarus still had the Conquest, down at Centerville. He was cool as hell. The car ran like a 13.8 1/4 time. He said when he was still married he bought the car for his stepson and when he got divorced he got the car back, so he decided to mess with it a little. It WAS just a little N/A, but he's done all new internals and boosted it. So, it was pretty cool. :D

If it wasn't an older guy, sorry for blabbing. :P

i made the mistake of trying to race a turbo laser in my celica when it was running. that was dumb. he smoked me like i was sittin still. he wasnt racin when i flew by him. got about 5 lengths in front of him then i saw his headlights jump. and next thing i know hes sittin next to me and beyond. i heard that turbo spoolin. splooge.

the old guy i saw him at mokan, he was tagging along with that 12 sec merkur xr with N20, the laser guy seemed to be kind of a cocky jerk, but oh well

Yeah thats Hendrix's new car that he got from Bill. From what Bill said it ran a 13 at mokan with slicks. I've always been able to pull on him but from what bill says its probably faster than mine or at least without me running slicks. I think hes putting a bigger intercooler on it. He's kewl, just flag him down, he should pull over and talk.

Patrick, do you have the guy with the 12 sec XR's number? My dad talked to him for a long time one day and he said to let him know if i needed anything. Rich and I are trying to get a hold of him so we can all meet, us XR fanatics. if you have any info on him or his car, lemme know. i know he works at lewis chrysler or something.

lol ya thats me. And I got the car from bill. The last time he ran the car it ran like a 13 flat with a slipping clutch. But it has a new one now. lol and ive only ran 2quick4u when it was raining and the car doesnt even get traction when its dry let alone in the rain. Now im putting a big ass FMIC on and an MSD DIS-2 and an apexi S-AFC 2. Ill be back in fay in hopefully about 3 weeks 2 show the new toys on it. Oh ya.....and the internals are stock....the motor has just been rebuilt...well except the head(its built). Then abunch of other stuff. im allways down at sonic in fay if anyone whats 2 stop and say hey.

Hell yeah! That Bill guy was cool as shit. I'm really glad you got the car. He treated it really well.. I'm sure you'll do the same. Sorry if I was mistaken about the internals, I'm just trying to recount what the dude told me. Anyways, man, impressive car! I love it. Two thumbs up from me. :thumbup: :thumbup:

i dont have his number but i can assure you he will be at mokan june 5th, i want to come to a little MerkMeet if i get my manifold on in time, ask rich if he'd be kind enough to donate some extra scorpio valve covers to my cause :thumbup: then i will be totally Merkafied! :lol:


by the way, my Hypertech chip came in today, retails for almost $300, got it for $84 shipped, and we have all the parts now for my tranny, and chris is gonna lower it about 2" all around before he gives it back :D yay

That rocks dude, ya ill talk to rich, but i already did, he said that i can negotiate with you for him on the intake. hes got one sitting on the floor idol. and the valve covers might cost something dude. but seriously for the whole lot...im gonna start out at $100 come back at me.

i've already got the manifold, got it for $30 shipped, i just need valve covers now :thumbup:
