I have the option of buying a new stainless steal downpipe for whatever the site asks plus shipping. This will be around $275 it think. The other option is buy a used mild steal DP from the same guy im having build my engine for around $100.
I save around $175 but its used and its not stainless steal.

Whats your guys opinions?

buy it off of flee-bay, i'm sure you can find a nice ss dp for cheap... if not ask how big it is 2.5" , 3" , then compare then, there is a big difference in 2-3" downpipe hp gains. i'm sure that is the only thing that really matters, stainles steel probably saves a little weight, and looks nicer, but i'm guessing that would be the only differece.

I had made up my mind after I posted that untill I found out how much my engine was actually going to cost me. Im getting it at wholesale $1950 plus $200 in shipping and about 170 in gaskets. The street port is going to be $800. So the grandtotal is $3120 when I thought it would be $2800. Getting the mild steel would even out the costs but its not as good of a choice.
So, now im back to debating again.

Go with the cheaper one, and heat wrap it or ceramic coat it.

I went with the cheaper one $85 bucks plush 10 for shipping. Its a HKS downpipe so its not some cheap thing off ebay but its not stainless. It actually came in the mail today
