why not get it local? mine came from Best Brake and Muffler, out on the way to the Rogers airport. that was almost two years ago, but they might still carry magnaflow, if not they can probably order it. they do a damn good job on everything too.

2.25 race series muffler, its oval with a 4 inch straight cut tip-$150 installed(it was a 200 and somethin muffler, but it was their last one and needed to get rid of it) magnaflow hi-flow cat-$60, $40 to install, 2.25 piping was on there. i found my cat on ebay, but bought it directly from the guy, he owns "the muffler shop" in Memphis, he was very helpful and was open on a sunday night at 7!! ordered it that night, and was at my door on wednesday. the shop number is 423-306-4259.

i personally love how it sounds, a couple people on this board have heard that i know of. they can give their opinions if they would like too.

back on topic: robert, its right past that huge ass boat place on 62. you can't miss it.

hmm......sounds good, have to see if they have one w/o a tip so it'll goon my truck, think i might run the MF hi-flo cat with an exhaust cap thing before it to run open header when i want :D and then either do 2.25 with a MF muffler all they way back or keep using my dynomax ("sounds like a ferrari driving away"-i8ayellowcrayon) 2" muffler with 2.25 or 2.5 tailpipe

If it had more of a mid-pitched whine to it, there would be no mistaking that it sounds like a Ferrari. That night we were racing at Industrial Park, the night the girls went off the road, oh man. I just remember that night and the way your truck sounded. :o :D

And that night that I pulled .5/1 car length on you from my best launch ever :). From a stock 2.3 carbureted Isuzu P'up. Yeyah.

so you say keep the muffler i have now, and just get all new exhaust around it? (cat, cutout, tailpipe, tip) cuz my pipe is rusting again, and i have no tip, and my cat gets stinky sometimes

But when you go bigger pipe, the whole sound can/will change. I dunno, do performance over sound for sure.

i figure with that cutout (has some restriction) and 2" exhaust, u think i shoudl go with 2.25 or 2.5 tailpipe?

I was going to go 2.25 with the Honda... I have no clue what is best for your V6. I would say go with 2.5 since your going to replace your entire exhaust anyways. You won't see that much of a loss I don't think.

Yeah yeah. You were probably peg-legging half way through second :). But still, all that torque, and you let my dinky 90 something hp Isuzu with heavy blings on it own you on the launch?!?! :D I'm just giving you crap man, just because I lost that race lol.

i think that with the heavy amount of mods i am doing to the intake/fuel maybe run a 2.5 tailpipe and a 2.5 or 3" cat, but i think i will keep the current 2" muffler and just replace the rusted pipe, before it (2"), so i wont lose all my torque but it'll open it up enough, there is a fineline with these 2.9s on too big and too small, one guy has a heavily modded one and lost a bunch of lowend by dumping the flowmaster

his truck (no merkur parts :P ):

keep in mind he is gen1 and mine is gen2, his interior is still sweet tho (140mph speedo, CF dash, momo stuff, racing seats)

so what is your opinion on my exhaust idea?

I8ayellowcrayon

run a 2.5 tailpipe and a 2.5 or 3" cat

Whoa!! Definitely don't run 3" cat! Your cat should be the same size as the rest of the exhaust. Right after the headers/Y pipe is where most of the torque is lost. Sorry to say, I think you'll lose some torque because of your headers. Prolly a little bit from your TTB setup, but you'll definitely make up for it after 3500 or so :). I'd say 2.5 all the way through, and don't be afraid of bends; don't skimp around, put them where it needs it. I don't know what you should do about a tip....

well the stock cat is either 2.5 or 3 so......and if i use the same muffler i have now i wont have to wait another year for it to get this loud, it was soooo quiet when i first got it i hated it, but now it is LOUD, it was only $17 from jegs, lol, think i wanna keep it! :D

i found a nice tip for $12  sam walton hooked me up

i think 2.25. you won't lose hardly any torque and you'll gain some high end. when i had my old cat gutted, i lost so much low end it wasn't even fun to drive. your stock cat should have the same size ends as the rest of the exhaust. it's not like you have a super high reving engine that needs to breath up to 7500 or something, so having some back pressure would work in your favor.

get some 4.33/4.56 gears in that beast and open your exhaust up to 2.5 back to the mufflers then 3in back from there

are you serious  i think 4.11 would be pushing it for driveability on the highway. my car has 3.85 and at 70 in 5th it's running at 3000rpm's. 80mph almost 4000. i did 120 yesterday and it was at 5400ish(i didn't really want to look down much) :o . the gt's with 4.11's are even worse.

it's your truck, 2.5 would be plenty though. running 3" on a N/A V6 would be retarded though

3.73 would be the lowest i'd EVER go with a 5spd that i drive daily, my MPG already sucks and is about to get a LOT worse with 3.55s now

2.5/3 exhaust, you are nuts, i'm trying to gain power, not lose it

the highest you ever go on a 2.9 is 2.5 and thats depending on preference on powerband and ONLY if its heavily modded

i think i've decided on

headers (already bought em)
exhaust cut-out
magnaflow cat
replace the midpipe (2")
keep my muffler
get either 2.25 or 2.5 mufflerback mandrel bent
nice chrome tip

ya chads car sounds really good with the magnaflow it's got a nice defined tone and as its reving up you can hear all the cylinders firing up sounds awesome not a blatty note at all.

oh ya who ever was saying about making an exhaust sound like a ferrari i dont think anyone can do that unless your running a dohc v8 that dosent redline till 8k, ferrari is the best sounding engine ever there v12's are that much better sounding than the v8

i think mine is similar but def a LOT deeper and smoother, combined with the intake it has a REAL growl to it, most like the 6th sound clip on the dyno, that was really cool btw
