I changed out my plugs today hoping for better performance and gas mileage lol. Well gas mileage if i was driving nice but anyways I pulled out my plugs and they were some odd kind of platinum split fires and i replaced them with some new bosch platinum single tips(no splits) and it made quite a nice difference. Car starts up faster and its getting up in the RPM's a lil bit quicker. I thought it wasn't bad for $17

split fires are crap plugs. they lose their gap really easily from what i've read. the old one's were probably way off causing your car to run like that.

you've had that car for liek a year, and you've been spending all this money on it and you've never pulled and changed the plugs  shit dude, that stuff should've been first.

oh yeah, if you have any fuel mods plat. plugs are a bad thing.

on a side note. i pulled all mine today too, nice and tan :)

not really, the only one that is tought is #6 i believe it is, the one right behind the alternator. the three on the "rear" of the engine are easier than the front. it's a lot easier with the strut bar and intake manifold off, but i didnt feel like spending 10 more minutes doing that today :P

I could have got something else but the day before that i had just bought a MSD TFI blaster coil for some odd reason. I dont really need it but it looks nice lol and new and red.

Just got exhaust mods going atm. It came stock with plat plugs so i figured it wouldnt hurt any byut ford is pre stupid with things they put on their cars stock....

now im trying to decide if i should change out my wires which i really need cause they come off soooo easy or get some pulleys cause my year car really responds well to them

DUDE, matinence(sp?) first!!! do the performance shit second. you should have changed plugs, wires, radiator hoses, air filter, oil...all that crap right after you bought the car :P

if that coil didn't make a difference its because of those old wires, its probably cooking them from the inside out now anyways. when i got my blaster 2, it made a world of difference

I use autolite 764's.....they are copper and copper offers the best performance. At under 2 bucks a peice I love em. Only bad thing they only last 10-15k.
