Well, I rode in a v6 stock Auto and it wouldnt even burn out - so that dubbed the newer Auto Mustangs as Crap in my book. Of course that was just a base model mustang and bowens has much more done to it.

4.6 started in 96 stangs, but was in crown vics etc as early as 92 i think

I know Hof would win. His car is running VERY strong right now. I think that his car is capable of running 13.7-13.8. IM not saying consistantly but i think it can. He is good driver too.He is pretty consistent in how he races.Over the summer hof and i raced a 97-98 GT with exhaust and intake and gears, and some other things, and we blew the doors off of the car, and i wasnt pulling from hof very much then and his car is running the best that it ever has.I say they need to line em up this weekend. :thumbup:

First of all let's get a couple of things straight. We stayed pretty much side by side, gave props that nite to you for a having a quick car. If you are going to tell the story you need to tell the entire thing. I missed 4th. Not an excuse, just a fact. When I did that, I backed out of it, no point. I am not sure how much money you have dumped into that thing, but you had to spend all that just to keep up with my essentially stock snake. SO before you start talking all that shit, make sure you have the facts straight and are willing to share them all. I don't mind getting beat, I know that my car isn't the fastest, but it really pisses me off to have you talking shit like that without putting the whole story out there. If I spent as much as you have I would be putting down ~ 500 to 515 RWHP. You wouldn't have a chance. I prolly wouldn't waste the gas to race you.

Appreciate it Merkur. When I was talking about money. I was talking about the amount of money that he added to a stock vehicle to get it to where it is now. He very well may be as fast as mine and I don't have a prob with that at all. I was just saying that if I added the same amount of money to my essentially stock vehicle (hp wise) those are the numbers I should make.

Ive been looking at the 345 hp ford racing crate engine with the trick flow heat track kit. Id want that to be bored out to a 306 tho. I really want a 347 but i dont htink i could afford a good one with a R block. But maybe a 331 is in my grasp. There is a 347 short block in summit for like 3k tho :ph34r:

:surp: <_< how and why are you going to buy a new motor, and afford it , when you havent even spent $200 or less on a cold air kit. I believe on your motor the airflow improvement is around 150%-200%, or at least thats what it was on a foxbox. Not sure if they are the same air intake setup but might be?Anyways, i would just buy a supercharger for the same abount that you would be spending on the motor, with gas prices goin up we wont be able to drive our cars much longer anwyays lol

I totally agree with you, you would definately have me off the line. No question about it. As far as the traction issue, I disagree to a point. A traction issue is a traction issue. From what I know about front wheel drive cars (which btw is not a lot) you guys have a hard time launching high torque cars, but if the tires are spinning no matter which end of the car they are on, they are spinning. Yes you did start just a little ahead of me, you weren't pulling on me tho, we were dead even until I missed forth. Again I am not using that as an excuse, just the fact. Like I said early, I gave you props that nite for having a quick car. The money thing. Not sure how much you paid for you car. My point was, whether you spent it or not, there was a lot more money spent on your car in mods to bring it up to where mine is essentially stock. If I were to spend that same amount on mods, then I would be putting down ~500 (and still having traction issues, lol). As far as my pride, I said in the first post that I know mine isn't the fastest. The thing that really pissed me off was when you posted that you beat me, when it just isn't true. Sorry I havent been on guys.....busy as shit lately and dont have much time to check the boards. But yea John and Hof and some others told me about this post and I was like ight i'll check it out.

Well funny thing is tonight (sat. 17?) some friends went out so I was like ok im going cruising and I'll meet up with them later blah blah and Im driving back on walnut towards B'ville and Hof is sitting at the red light in front of Hobby Lobby and I pull up next both of us being in front. So were talking and the light turned green and we werent paying attention but I was green go so I pull away normally and I hear him maybe 1-2 cars behind me romp on it so as hes coming up on me I hit it. We he gets about 1/2 car ahead of me and then I start pulling back and eventually pull maybe 1/2 car and then he pulls up a little then I pull up a little. Hard to tell since he started before me and I was in front of him so really sounds like he had the edge since he already was goin before me but im not going to say I won because it wasnt near a real race. And def. I'm gonna get some people to go to Tulsa where I ran my 13.9 at because Mokan SUCKS. The 14.11 was with a like 2.2-2.3 60ft. Its said that every .1 taken of the 60 is about .2 in the quarter. so Im saying in Tulsa I'd run a 13.7-.8.

So if anyone wants to join up and go to tulsa probably at the begining of summer maybe. Me, Robert, Hof, Don, John(IS300? :thumbup: ) and some of my buddies here in B'ville with a silver 03 cobra, 88gt with 331, and probably other friend with a 91 gt. And you F-body guys can get your friends to come along. Def. be a sweet cruise and hang out.

Thats cool and thats your choice. Your obviously a GM fanatic where I am a Ford. I think that my stang is a great car. Nothing close to shitty. Also no, I dont need a s/c to keep up with a t/a. I have a friend that live in STL with an 01 auto gt and a few weeks ago he ran a 13.01....and no not on slicks, nittos and he only got a 2.0 60ft. Also the 14.3 stock auto gt, I just laughed cus I have a vid and I know a guy that ran a 13.66 on a auto 01 GT and he only had a K&N replacement filter.

Whoever was asking about the auto trannies, BDP I think. I really couldnt tell you off the top of my head the specs of it. Other than it shifts real slow. Hof said that he thought it shifted fast for an auto but to me it doesnt, time for a chip to improve, or maybe a perf. valve body.

hey brandon when you go to tulsa there not going to let you use your nittos unless you get a c-clip eliminator in your ass end. Since there becomeing all certified there doing inspections on the cars. It will be really easy to tell if you dont have the eliminator too cause it looks like another box next to your differential. All this info comes from Stan Martin and he knows his shit like no other. He just happens to own the fastest lightning around. Its soooo badass!

Robert I dont think I'd need a C-clip eliminator because the only reason I know that people do it is because they are running slicks and I always thought that the clip was in the rear end housing. So I seriously doubt I would need it. :thumbup:

Brandon, I was at Stan's with Robert. From what Stan is saying by August Tulsa will be certified and if your run 12.99 or less, you are going to have to have a driveshaft loop. If you run any kind of drag radials or slicks you have to have a "c" clip eliminator and yes it is in the diff, but it is what holds your axles in.
From the nfo we got, this has nothing to do with a need thing. It is going to be a requirement.

Aftermarket Axles: For cars running 10.99 or quicker 1/4 mile, aftermarket axles are required. The wheel studs must extend at least one inch beyond the outside of the wheel. C-Clip eliminators must also be installed.

Run at the track to find out. I beat mid 14 to high 13 second cars in my car but no one said that counts in a fair estimate and I KNOW my car wouldn't have ran a 13 second anything. Heck, I've messed with a C5 before and we had nearly the same acceleration. I KNOW his car was faster but he couldn't drive and he wasn't really racing me we were just punching it for a second or two messing around.

Well, you just had to be there. I was in no way saying I actually raced it or beat it. Just saying for the few seconds we were both on it, we were very close to even.

The Ta would win more horse and plus six speed TAs have never had 220 HP always 280 290 and 320 335 hp. His has probably 325hp. :shiftingfun:
