The Evo ran a 9.580@107.17 no nitrous. The clutch would not take it. I need a new one now. Oh, well what is another $1600. So, does anyone want to race me?

Feb-26th-06, 8:28 pm
damn, thats good, thats what? a 12.xx in the quarter?
mrcox
Feb-26th-06, 8:30 pm
The 9.58 should be good for a 11.5 pass in the 1/4.
Don Juan
Feb-26th-06, 8:35 pm

Yeah i was out there today too, were you in the Black Evo? I was in the dark red Dodge Stealth, i didn't do too bad for an N/A SOHC, i ran 12.8 @ 83.5, i couldn't get traction so i couldn't launch at all, Jason(yellowcrayon) was also out there, he got me with his S/C CRX he ran a 12.5xx, and also Mr. Merk was there as well.

I couldn't get traction either haha. I had 2.27 60' time, I'm surprised I even got that. I thought for sure that you were going to get it...
Nice time. I wish I could have stayed longer to see it.

Perhaps a trip to Tulsa is in order.... since the F-body-boys won't go to Centerville...

Yes, a trip to Tulsa should certainly be in order. Adam and Larry are still true 1/4 milers. They won't bother with C'Ville. Besides, a trip down the 1320 will give you a chance to see if the Evo has anything left in high gear. I'd be curious b/c quite frankly, I'm a little shocked to see it go that fast in the 1000.....especially since it was w/o nitrous. What kinda short times did it run??

Feb-27th-06, 1:40 pm
im def. interested in 60 ft times.

i know A few people in the tulsa area, we should mob that way some time.

Feb-27th-06, 2:14 pm
That was on a 1.69 short time. I was spinning the tires. I have bald snow tires on it not, with some good tires I know some low 1.5 are there. I know the car will run out on the big end. It has a really small turbo. Adam and Larry do not want to go to the 'ville because they know they will lose with my short times, but I think they could come around me in the 1320.

Feb-27th-06, 2:22 pm
I also cut a 1.66 sunday. My car on just pump gas(how I drive it everyday) It ran a 10.3.

Feb-28th-06, 8:07 am
Terrence put some decent tires on it and pull some high 1.5's/low 1.6's and put a tilton/exedy whichever twin disc in that bitch.

(he did pass him by the 320ft mark i think)

hey, post up more pics!
Mr. Merk
Feb-28th-06, 8:52 am
that's my girl!! (7-8 sec in to the race) she lost by .08sec, but she tree'd her brother pretty good, if i wouldve sit on the sidelines that run she would've won
the 2nd time they raced (her best run) he got her pretty good off the line and finished off good too
next step, weight transfer and reduction

Feb-28th-06, 8:57 am

mrcox, your car is definitely impressive for what it is. I would enjoy seeing you hook 'em up with Adam. His car went a 9.43 in the 1,000 last year on the way to an 11.32 1/4 mile pass. That was on a 1.49 short time and this was only his 2nd trip to the track....@ 3980 lbs with him in it. Heavy! My personal opinion is that on the street, you would most likely win 10 of 10 races. At the track, even in the 1,000 ft., I think the blown, nitrous injected SBC would probably trailor your car. I would like to see that race though!
Mr. Merk
Feb-28th-06, 9:20 am
they've already raced (a few months ago), but remember his 9.5 run was without n2o....
and since they raced, cox has got his ducks in more of a row ;)

Feb-28th-06, 10:21 am
I am down anytime to race adam or larry when he gets his car back together. They just do not come out anymore. I will make a trip to tulsa or mokan when I get the clutch fixed and new tires to see if I cam make a 10 sec pass on the stock turbo. I just need more money. All of my money right now is going towdards closing on a house. Anyone want to buy me a clutch?

maybe you can get sponsored....locally....but it has to be someone with a big truck...and its gotta be white.....hmmm....

I know they raced on the streeet a while back and I know the outcome. Which is why I said on the street, the Camaro is NO match for that car. Hell, most cars on the street will be no match for it. It's the consummate street sleeper, no doubt. I'm just saying at the track, I feel certain the SS would take it. But ya never know I suppose. What I find EXTREMELY impressive is the fact it went 9.50's with no spray. Hell, that's only 1/2 a sec slower than my Mustang in the late 90's. It would run 9.0000's all day long on the motor. 8.00's with the juice. That car is practically just as fast as my Mustang, motor to motor. I realize the car has a turbo but I had 4 more cylinders.... :))
Or is the Evo 6??
drewgray
Feb-28th-06, 11:45 am
Evo is definitely 4. 4g63.
Sounds like you had alot of spray on that mustang.

Not really...250 on a Nitrous Express direct port rail type system. That avatar is one of the last times I had it at C'Ville before I sold it to Mel. When Mel sold it later that summer to Chip, he didn't so much as even change the plugs and won many shoot-outs in C'Ville with it. I basically sold it just after we finally figured it out. The ticket was o-ringing the block and running copper head gaskets with 1/2" head studs. That's what it takes to seal up the SBF with any success.

On a V8 built for the shot, no its not really a big deal. Especially going from 9.0's to 8.0's I would have expected more.

okok...
I guess I need to take the POS GSX to the track at least 1 time before I sell it.
I'll slap a 50 shot on it.
I'll go w/everyone whenever you decide to go.
