we're gonna start meeting on fridays at locamotion in fayetteville, at the front part of the parking lot around 10 o clock. who's for it?

Shit yah!!! I've been scoping out this entire area (Fayetteville, B-ville, Rogers) for the last few months (ever since cops rendered Sonic in F-ville off limits) and all I can ever catch are few people at a time at Shakey's in Rogers.
I'd LOVE to see a bunch of people (and cars) show up at locomotions. I don't think they'll have a problem with us (especially now that it's too cold to be AT locomotions very late) and hopefully the cops won't flex too much.
I'll start checkin' the lot out about 10:00 or so to see if this catches on.

By the way, if Locomotion's location wasn't clear enough, it is right down the hill from the NWA Mall (on the Springdale (North) side), and on opposite side as the mall. You can't miss it.

Its kinda a weekly place where people can meet and talk. No one is "doing" it. Its kinda just a place some1 picked so every1 isnt driving around not knowing where other people are. Or at least I think thats what this is.

Yah, that would be my fault.
THe only time I've actually seen cops over there were when an unnamed green Honda Accord and myself were busted racing, stupidly enough, right there on Walnut. It's a long story.
I don't think the cops usually do much before midnight or so because Shakey's stays open late and the people that work there are pretty cool about it.

I know it's chili out there. Fayetteville is a decent drive from Bentonville in the cold wet weather if you aren't going there FOR anything. I want this as much, if not more, than anyone, but I'd like to have a general idea who will show up tonight. (keep in mind that the rain MAY dissipate.

In case tonight doesn't happen there, don't rule out Locomotions as a cool meeting place. THere's PLENTY Of parking lot, so I don't think the business will care, and, like I said, I don't think cops will be too mean, but if they do, I have a backup plan.
And, in case it helps, next Friday is forecast to have a high in the low to mid 60's and not a drop of rain forecasted. (Keep that in mind).

Actually, as I sit here at almost 7pm and the rain hasn't BEGUN to let up, I KNOW I won't bother to go.

I'm glad there is already something in the motions for this. I was actually thinking about this the other day. I remember that SpeedTech did it for a while a year or two ago in Fayetteville, where they closed down a street for it.
Marlon said that the shop NWA Customs (currently out of Magic Nails in Bentonville) was actually opening up a garage soon. I had figured on asking them for the same arrangement.

TY's shop isnt very large, there is just a few places to park maybe 20 if you go across the street, and its B'Ville police so you know.

most of my buddies with imports have either drifted away, moved away, wrecked their cars, and/or are in "downtime" for the winter (cough3rdgenrx-7cough) which leaves me with mostly domestic driving friends on the weekends to hang out with, MOST of them are pretty clean cars (ie: terrences old 350 s-10) so i'm not complaining but i'm wondering if ya'll have any objection to them coming down as well? honestly i want your opinion, mainly cuz i don't want to see hatin goin on if we show up, i'd rather avoid that, thanks for your honest opinion! :thumbup:

Just so everyone knows...
The forecast for NWA this coming weekend is Friday, high in the upper 60's and Saturday, high in the lower 70's. There is not a drop of rain in the forecast.
Granted, all this is subject to change, but, in the event that it proves true, this weekend, both Friday and Saturday may be 2 of the best nights to be "out" and getting together that we will have until next spring.

Quite a few NWAImport-ers showed...we also had some 'others' show up.
That ex-cop cruiser was out there. He may have cost us the parking lot as a hang out, because, when they EVENTUALLY asked us to leave (which wasn't until 1/2 hr after they closed), we were all pretty cool, but then he put on a 2minute drift/burnout display that I don't think the girl and guy that were giving us the boot enjoyed.
All in all, they were pretty cool about it...they new we were out there since 10 and they didn't bother us at all.

I was there, in the gold Alero spinning my tires :D , were the Loko people mad because of that? My tires are crap now, but its ok. Merkur asked if it was ok if we came out (the domestic guys...), and nobody said anything different so we came over there. But as always we had out space between everyone else.

I didn't know half of anyone that was there, just people I have seen around before. Guess I need to go through the 'Roll Call', get to know everyone.

:) I didn't show up, but I was told how it went. I think for us to be confident in keeping the Lokomotion until Spring, we should try to cut out the burn-out stuff. :P Not that its not impressive or anything, we just need a stable place to meet up.

Dude, it was totally cool to have the domestics out there, too.
Until someone starts talking shit about one ride being better than all the rest, it's all about 'the more, the merrier'.

Treipsyn is right, though...when they asked us to leave at about 12:30, because none of the employees would be there, everything was fine until the tire pyrotechnics in the Caprice started. It appeared to me that they (Locomotions staff) didn't think highly of that.

But, unless that totally turned the bridge to ashes, I don't think they'll have TOO much of a problem lending us a piece of the parking lot on the nicer nights.

Speaking of which, button the hatches because NWA is under a freeze warning affective 6pm Sunday evening.

i think i saw some of u F-bodies at sonic, i was in my girl's green camaro, i'm kinda sick of the truck right now, got a ticket wed in farmington, i got tired of my shitty mpg, took off my big ass K&N intake and throttlebody (+6mm), and am getting over 20mpg now compared to 15-16 i was gettin, by the end of the winter i may have a new (for me) engine, if not i should still be getting the 5.0 TB (+13mm) and 5.0 injectors (+5lbs) put on, maybe some portmatching with the manifolds as well (upper & lower)

no more :wootburnout: for the rest of the winter at least
