Ok i need keyless put in a 1997 or 98 f-150 (it's the first year of the new body style form the boxy 5.0 one) but i don't know who to go to or what kind of $ i'm looking at.
you'll need to include whether or not you have power doorlocks as well. Also, you must know if you have the PATS security system or any factory security as you will likely need a by-pass adapter.
PawnUSA has some Freedom systems but other than there, I have no idea what other shops carry.
I know We (Fletcher Honda) use Trim line in Springdale and they charge around $150 just basic install if you need doorlock actuators, around $300 for doorlock actuators, keyless entry and alarm.
You can purchase an El-Cheapo keyless kit on ebay buy it now for about $40 or good unit from a retail store for $55-$100 depending on what you want your options to be for the module.
Most people key a alarm system and just choose not to have the alarm portion hooked up. DEI makes nice devices as most of them use billion + rolling codes and code hopping technology to ensure your privacy - other models include Hornet, Merlin, Pro Guard, Python, Rattler, Sidewinder, Steal Stopper, Wasp, Valet &Viper and prolly a few more.
Usually DEI models are your best bet for cost, options and ease of installation.
Why not just get a remote start unit as well? I do all my installs myself, but they are usually just on personal vehicles or close friends. I dont like to do them for others as they tend to bring it back too often and have me change something.
I installed a system for my buddy in his ranger which didnt have doorlocks factory, got it off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-01-FORD-...021023492QQrdZ1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-01-FORD-RANGER-KEYLESS-ENTRY-SYSTEM-POWER-DOOR-LOCKS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6779QQitemZ802102 3492QQrdZ1) and it took me about 2 hours to install it completely. Pretty simple cheap kit just for handy keyless entry, but I wouldnt use it if you had theft protection in mind as I'm sure you could fool the system with a good remote.

the truck has auto locks the problem is the trucks locks on the door where to stick the key in takes forever to make the door unlock for some reason so i want to get the keyless. Also i hate to do wires and what not so i don't want to do this one. I'll stick to wrench turing :D

well if you have everything that you would need to install keyless entry in your truck i could do the job for you if you needed someone to do it.
