ring and pinon?

so the car i bought is front wheel drive car and it goes knock knock knock....well it did before i tried to bust a burn out lol , but I was told its the ring and pinon in the transaxle. I know very little about FF cars and need some info about fixing it cause im not paying $$$ to get it fixed.

What kind of car? What kind of sound? Where's it coming from??? Something you might try, is put the front of the car *SAFELY* on jack stands (don't forget the e-brake) and start the car up, put it in gear, get it up to 20mph or so and listen for where the noise is coming from. I also think its one of your axles/joints. I've never heard of a ring & pinion going out on a FWD car.

hahah yeah its an escort. Well it doesnt do much ne more in gear. Well it doesnt move at least. The knocking was under the hood on the right side i believe. Im about to rip the engine out and play :D

quickest solution to ur problem...go to e-z mart...get 2 gallons of gas....buy a book of matches...pour the gas on the car...strike a match..and watch it burn to the ground..after it is chared piss all over it let it cool off...dig out the ford symbol...put it in an envelope mail it to the ford motor company and postmark it..."that takes care of that" :D :thumbup:
