Shit...someone was talking once, about this old guy in a TA in B-ville. I don't remember who said it, and I can't remember if it was a WS6 or not, but anyway :
Coming home tonight, I got onto 540 real hard, just for the hell of it, getting on northbound from Walnut. This silver TA saw me and it seemed, to me, like he was pacing me. Well, too much traffic kept me from doing too much and I got off at 102...next exit. He followed.
So, were up at the light turning left on 102 and it goes green. At this time I couldn't tell he was old and I thought it MIGHT have been one of the TA's from this site. Anyway, he got in it a bit and I was in a good place in 1st, so I romped and kept lead. Of course, we hit the red at the next light (the one in front of the Nascar/McDonald's/Gas station. Then I realized he was old, but as far as I was concerned, it looked like he wanted to go. I figured, chances are I'll get beat, but if I can take him good off of the line (relying on his lack of reflex), then I can atleast hold him for a few seconds. So, green light, I go hard. He doesn't do shit, I don't think. I left him pretty quick.
Well, we get to the NEXT light, in front of Sonic. We're up again. Well, I figured he doesn't really want to race, so I didn't. Well, he just sat on my quarterpanel until about when I hit 3rd, then he took off. No warning, no lurching, no honk, no signal, no nothing. A textbook "ricer-flyby" in my book!!
So, I caught up to him, but he slowed back down to 45mph. So, I pace him for a bit, until we hit traffic. I weaved through, then he followed. I figured "ok, he wants to race from roll, I'm game as long as we are about 45 or 50, cause that's wherein the power lies in 2nd gear. Well, he doesn't! I took it down to 30mph to let him catch up, but he wouldn't. Finally, he dips in behind me and takes the last right before A st, where I turn to go home.
I'm POSITIVE that this wasn't the "old guy in a TA" that whoever it was on here was talking about, because the "old guy" would have been MORE THAN HAPPY to run with me from what I've been told.
But I guess this one will fall under the thread about wastes of muscle.
tsk tsk tsk.
