ok just seeing if anyone has any big block dodge long blocks out there prefer that run, and not locked up the cheaper the better. pre emissions (1972) would be preferred. they come in old vans, trucks, some rvs etc. if you have an old dodge car laying around and you dont know whats in it, let me know and ill find out. or junkyards that has them, (junkyards dont have "vintage" cars.) just post what you have, and ill get back to you. would consider towing away car if i get the motor for CHEAP.
thanks.

Check with Tim's Automotive in Bentonville. Tim is a big Mopar guy and has hooked me up with a lot of stuff for the Barracuda. The number is 479-273-7071.

I have a complete but disassembled 383ci (Block, rods, pistons, cam, 2 sets of heads, alum intake). It just needs the cylinders honed, new rings and bearings. I would take $300 for it.
400ci that is complete carb to pan. $400
440 ci that is compete carb to pan. $550
If interested send me a email. shel_2999@yahoo.com

Sold the last one a few months back. All I have now for cheap small blocks are a couple of 318s. I have one W-2 headed 360, but it would not be cheap.

I'm not really looking but if I find what I want it would be nice. I want a small block that I can make turn high rpm and handle boost.

The 383 is a 66 block, the 440 is a 74, and the 400 is a 74. They all came with 4 barrel carbs. On the big block dodges the only thing different on the smog era blocks are the heads have hardened seats and the pistons are a little lower compression. Nothing else. Some people say the 76-77 blocks are a thinner casting and to stay away from them, but I have not had any real issues with them my self. I guess if you were going to build a 1000 hp motor you might have problems but with a 450-550 hp street engine would have no problems. I also have a few sets of 516, 906, and 342 (smog) heads. The 342 and the 906 are basicly the same head except the 342 has hardened seats.

radguy, im assuming the carb and intake on the 383 is stock 4 barrel? also where are you located? im trying to use my 383, at the moment and not overbore it so i can just do a stock rebuild, then buy a block and overbore it and build the bottom end to make more power.
