Dyno Results!

Alex over at Humble called me earlier after he dynoed and told me the results of his street hatch.....

EG hatchback, LS/VTEC Turbo, 18-20psi.... He dynoed 526HP at the wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This EXACT car with only 418hp an LS tranny w/ a slipping clutch ran a mid 11 second quarter mile. Now he's replaced the tranny w/ a short geared Del Sol tranny and tuned it up to 526, he should run 10's easy!!!!! This car will be at Mokan at the first Import Shootout if things go right!

Thats a ton of HP for just bout any car. It will be good for straight line performance but I wonder how well it can do in the corners

If he doesnt hit 10s someone should shoot him. With that much hp it should be easy. People of hit 10s in the 7s with around 420-460hp

Caleb, trust me, it will handle, this car has the same suspension as his road race hatch, and it was beating porsche's at hallet.

He put down 350 ft lbs of torque the other day, but he was only putting down 501hp too, I want to say its up to 365.

This car sure is red! Hehe You know what I'm talking about. :D

Honda's don't have the displacement to put down a lot of torque.

As for the dyno queen comment, the car ran a mid 11 w/ only 418hp. Its projected to be at low 10's, and will be ran when tulsa opens march 20th. Its not a dyno queen, and I don't know what gave you that idea.

those hatchs are the shit,that might be why i kept mine hehehe project when i get this rsx paid for. as for what they weigh their are four models in that body style:

cx:2094lbs
vx:2094lbs
dx:2178lbs
si:2326lbs

the difference between the vx and the cx was that the vx is perwired for vtec cause it has a vtec-e which was an econamy vtec which is just for great gas milage
which if anyone wonders mine is the vx. the most rare and wanted ones are either the vx or si cas si more stuff like sunroof,etc. and the vx for weight and wiring

He added an Edelbrock Intake manifold, bigger turbo, haltech stand alone, and some other stuff he keeps secret....

yeah its supposed to be a "street car"......but i'd hardly call it streetable, supposed to have about 25% more power than the red car is what i've heard

originally, when we were still shopping for a builder, (we went up to springfield), he was gonna gut it and go all out race car....for the street, he just wants something to play with, and "surprise those beaners shitless", i think now he wants a little more luxury in it, he was gonna try to get an EG EX but decided to stick with his hatch, he's starting to get worried about how he's gonna keep that thing on the ground and in control, he'll find out pretty quick.....

he lives only about 5-7 minutes from me, caleb lives right in between us

Are you sure 526 WHP was only at 18-20 lbs? Which turbo was he running and obviously race gas?

Yes, 116 octane race gas, and it was at 24psi, not 20, sorry guys....

he's 64? years old and owns a custom bike shop/dog grooming/boarding/training facility, he's badass...

he's having a car built by humble

he drives a wagovan (civic 5 door awd) it had a D16 with a jackson racing supercharger, now its stock with the exception of some nicer honda 5 spokes

he also has a 00? hatch back with motegi 18's, that is the car being built by humble.....wahoo

he's kinda expensive but the best, as far as keeping dogs, he wont give you a discount, at least he wont give me one, lol, thats how i met him to start with

Gary is awesome :thumbup:. When we went to Springfield, we stopped in Branson on the big cruise night and Gary was out spinning his tires for people.

I don't think Gary should be too worried about keeping weight on the wheels (that will be a problem though) but keeping parts on his car. Much more than 526hp isn't the best for streeting, especially the way he wants to drive it. Not only keeping the parts on his car, but paying for the high priced parts when they go out. I dunno really, but 700+hp doesn't sound like too much fun on a clutch....

The short answer is that they make power in the upper rpm range.

The long answer is that horsepower is simply a calculation based on torque. Torque is force, horsepower is work. So in order to make horsepower you have to be moving something (turning the crank). So if you turn the crank faster with the same amount of torque, you're doing more work and hence making more power.
