Long tubes

yeah ther fucking loud. I scare cows really easily its great fun lol. It's hard at night tho cause i gotta baby it hardcore so i don't get pulled over. Id have to say thats some of the best $$$ i've spent to date. I lost a some torque running open headers from 2k rpm and down but it starts pulling that much harder after that. If you going to get shottys go ahead and save up for the long tubes you will be a lot happier with them. :thumbup: thumbup: thumbup: thumbup: thumbup:

was it a PITA to install? we were going to put shorties in the purple pony cuz i know on my 68 cyclone we had to pull the block to get the full lengths in there, but if they arent any harder....then..........hehe ^_^ i hate cows

you gotta un bolt the motor mounts and jack the engine up like 3-4in. Yeah its harder but much worth the trouble

sorry to interupt, but I have been thinking of a good deep sound but not flowmasters for my stang. It has the 302 with supposed Cobra exhaust with a ghetto H-pipe. I was thinking of a cherry bomb or glass-pack but not sure on what I want yet, most of/or all of that exhaust will be trashed when I get ready to work on it anyhow.

I am sorry to say that I havent ever seen your stang anywhere and have been looking for it too :( I really wanna hear it!

On my elcamino I was gonna run something sorta quiet for an exhaust but put a valve right after the header to dump to open headers or side roadster headers. I was looking at the old corvette style roadster headers for $150!!! They sell the valve at JCWhitney ($15 Ea.)! That way I could cruise town all day and night without getting any looks, but one tug on the valve cable and all hell is loose!

I was thinking it would help out when racing too, got the good lowend torque, then highend power from the free flowing exhaust.

the purple pony has glass packs on stock exhaust, sounds really good, too obnoxious at all, nice rumble, but we are going to do the long tubes, off road x pipe and prolly the roush style exhaust

well the shortys added a lil deeper tone and maybe 8-10hp. They are a lot easier to install tho(i have some for sale) The long tubes take away some torque in the 0-2000rpm range but im guess with gears you wouldnt notice it. There also a lil expaensive to get put in but you can do it if you can jack up your engine yourself. Once you get 3k+ rpm it starts pulling a lot harder. Plus there nice and loud plus when people get on the ground the seem thoes nice collectors down there :thumbup: if you be intrested in buy my shorts ill sell them to you cheap plus there no shipping :D

bbk 1 5/8 shortys chrome standard lenght. there $179.99 brand new but ill sell em for $100. I had a thing added on too so that you can connect your egr tube cause they dont come with one.

i didnt think id be able to say this but i put my flowmaster on now and its quiet. But its a smooth lil rummble now. I kind of liked the dirt track and alcohol engine noise but cops... yeah
