It looks kinda like a mustang, but if you examine the rear its definately a Mitsu.

What Edmunds.com Says: More power and a new platform should help this revamped Eclipse recapture some of the customers it lost due to the tepid performance of the current model.

What We Know: Mitsubishi's next vehicle off the Project America platform will be an all-new Eclipse coupe. Prototypes spotted testing in the California desert show a uniquely styled hatchback with distinctive lines reminiscent of the Galant sedan. Like the Galant, the Eclipse is likely to feature both four- and six-cylinder power plants when it debuts late next year.

The current Tepid Model. Ummm...my current "Tepid" model is still faster than most Acura's, Civcs, Preludes, and quite a few V8's. I dunno what these guys are talking about. All you need is a $2,000 exhaust system, a bitch'n chip set, and a semi-humid day and I'll kick some butt all up and down that track.

I'm not really sure if I'm a big fan of the new model or not. I really don't know what to think of it. I prefer the model right now. But what the hell are they thinking, the 3rd gen hasn't been out very long, why are they going to revamp the new line so soon? Sounds like a bit of a mistake to me.

The current body style has been around since 2000 (technically late 99), so by the time these hit the US market it will be 2005.
