sallie hasn't mentioned her mods yet, but a stock c5 puts out like 350 bhp (if im not mistaken) and depending on mods could be anywhere from 375-400 bhp, i doubt wheel unless its procharged or head work and cam have been done. id like to hear about your mods sallie, so i can get a better idea of how fast it is. (im not being rude, im being serious, i know vettes are quick, but mods decide if it is a high 12 sec car or a low 12 sec car)

nothing too crazy yet. i'm not sure how much i have, you know you can really never tell on some stuff. but if i had to take a shot in the dark i'd say definately no less than 375, no more than 425.. should be somewhere in there. after we get back from branson, the transmission is going to be done and it's going to be a lot stronger, the new clutch is going in, and we're taking it to kenny to get a custom exhaust on her. just to mention a few things i have lined up. if people would buy some horses from me i could leave it w/heavyhitter for a little bit :evil: but they're not selling as fast as i expected.. :(

yes.. that'd be 2nd gear. i have limited use of it. i can shift to 2nd if i'm at lower rpms.. once i'm there i'm good to go. i just can't get on it in 1st and put it in 2nd... if you can follow me.. i dunno, i'm kind of rambling today :P

oh.. i'm hardcore about some things... but racing my car isn't one of them ;) haha.. i'm also not stupid. w/a bad clutch and 2nd gear.. no, i'm not going to race a car that does close to what mine will STOCK. that'd be stupid :P but hey! i wouldn't put it past you.. that'd be right up your alley :rolleyes:

well u are comparing a mustang with the 5.0 only makes between 260-280 i think and the vett comes with 350ish so there is no contest , mabey if the 5.0 had a procharger or somethint then it would be fair . that would be like me racing evo 8 in my accord he would kill me . if u want to race a cobra there was a blue S/C cobra with slicks there last saturday night i am sure he would race for some money if u asked him

of course if you go to larger cities.. things are going to be more common. BUT i'm sure if you were able to look at the ratio of the faster cars, the cars w/8cyls and up would by far out number the cars w/less than 8 cyls.. thats just common sense

I think that a domestic v8 can out perform an import 4 cyl (out of the box) but when you start moding them, there is way more of a market for 4 bangers. You have to really work on those little suckers to make 'em run even up to the point of a v8, but when they do, they haul ass :thumbup: lol

#2... really? the trans ams we've raced have been very healthy.... theyve given us some trouble. that last one when you were behind us, we pulled on him until we ran out of first, then we tried 2nd, was denied, and put it in 3rd. of course there was a few seconds where we had no momentum from trying to get 2nd, and then putting it in 3rd we don't have near as much power as we should have had. it didn't take us long to get back beside him though. but it wasn't as it should have been :(

no it's not fixed yet. well, it'd be a race either way, we'd just kill him even more if terry was driving. the last time we raced from a stop and he dumped the clutch we didn't go anywhere... we just sat there spinning until he let out of it. i don't particularly want to drive if we go from a stop. but you're right.. it'd be more fair for him if we went from a stop and i drove, due to traction problems, my inexperience, and no 2nd gear. however... that's not what you do in a race, you don't handicap the good car so that the slow car has a chance. you run 'em the best you can :thumbup:

at the track there are 2 types of racing "heads up" which is what you and i prefer, and "bracket" which is where they handicap the racers to make the finish line about even
