Im having a hard time deciding on what I should get next. Im stuck between the F-150, Dodge 1500, and the Titan, I have been pricing and building my own on all three and they all avarage arround $30,000. I just want your guys input on what you think I should get. And yes, if I find the right truck, the Prelude will be gone. So let me know what you guys think and PLEASE dont hijack or whore up the thread.

dodge all the way... we absolutely love ours. it's not a 1500, but i'm sure those are just as nice. ford would be my next choice, we debated between a dodge or a ford, or i guess i should say the cummins vs the powerstroke. but i think the new fords are pretty nice too

put a nice big lift kit, big tires and an exhaust on it! :drool2:

new f150s are oogly and the Titan has had some problems. I'd take Lewis' service over Superior's any day.

I went to go look at the new F-150's today, I liked them, especially the 4-door (which if I get its going to be one of those) model. This weekend im going to head over to fayetteville/rogers/springdale to check out the rest.

P.S. Chevy is out of the question, so dont tell me to get one :P

Depends on what you want. The f-150s interior is niice!..but teh Titan can perform and im pretty sure it does 14s stock. Don't know too much about dodge..i would personallt get the titan.

As much fo a Ford uy as I am, I'd never get an F-150. If your gonna get Ford, at least get an F-250. I've never been in either of the other two, so I'm going to say Nissan Titan, just cause I think Dodge is FUGLY.

don't ever go to lewis, they'll screw you. one of our friends had something go wrong w/his dodge and he and terry took it up there... they wouldn't give him a loaner truck (it was covered by the warranty) so he had no transportation to and from work for about 2 weeks which is how long it took them to fix it. and it was something that should have been done in a couple days. i heard terry got into it w/one of the idiot mechanics too. we're going to take all our stuff to fletcher, they're good people. tim hurd is the best to deal with though. i had my mustang in for something.. regular maintenance.. and they gave me a brand new navigator to drive for a few days

i bought my silverado from lewis ford and every time i had to put it in the shop they always gave me a loaner . i would just say that i had to have something and they always gave it to me no questions asked . if u do go to lewis ford go back to the pre owner and ask for stanly mcgunnis . that the guy i buy from and he will take care of u . he is the one that always gave me a loaner no matter what . he ca sell u a new car so go ask for him and tell him i sent u :maliwho:

ok, u asked for an opinion, so ill giv u one. not that it really madders, cuz u'll get what YOU want anyway, ( i would ) but...here goes...
ive always liked fords, they are great work trucks and can be very sporty if u get the right options. as far as the dodge, ive had a couple and i always had problems with them, but that was prolly cuz i had older ones. honestly, i like the way dodge looks. And the Titan, ive only really heard good out of it. its a nissan, so it supposedly will last longer. its got a lot more hp than most fords or dodge without spending alot extra on the lightning or hemi or somfin. so i guess, I would go for the titan if i had the money, ( or the credit, cuz i aint got none )

I test drove the F-150 that I linked earlier and i fuckin loved it. Its a 5.4 Lariat and it hauls some nice ass!!!! I will go drive a Titan this weeknd, But i think dodge might be out of the picture.

And Derek, im getting a truck just because I want one :). I dont want to go head-on in the import thing till I have the money to do what I want, cuz if I dont, its no fun.

ps. If anyone is looking for a "good looking" car, Bob Maloney (pre-owned section) has a 00 V6 Roush mustang for $14,000, im not shitting you, it only has 4500 miles, some old geezer had it but the state took away his license so he took it back, i would go check it out if anyone is thinking bout a new car, the only downside is that 1) its a V6 and 2) its an automatic. But its really nice

My brother is getting a Nissan Titan Next. He drove my Hemi Dodge Ram 1500 (Rental Car) and said it was alright, which I agree, I'm not sure about Fords, but if you say it's good, then it must be good but I'm not much into Fords, I would take the Nissan and put some NISMO stuff in there, Or buy the NISMO Titan. It's totally up to you. ;)

ok, the Ford F-150 makes over 300ft-lbs of tq all the way from near idle to redline, key word being OVER, a good choice

Nissan....just cant see you in it man

if you're gonna spend that kinda jack, piss on the 1/2 ton junk. Go for an F250 (or F350) with the diesel engine. Just a little bit more $$, little bit bigger truck but way nicer and the resale value is excellent - not to mention if you can drag all 3 of your 1/2-ton choices along while they're still in "park".... lol. Superior Ford in Siloam is where to buy it.

probably a 6 speed, thats what the dodge is. but yeah i love driving ours. lol it's like a limousine though it's sooo long! and it takes a whole parking lot to get it turned around

heavyhitter
Jun-23rd-05, 2:11 pm
and get a short-bed unless you haul a lot of shit in the bed.... that 2 feet makes a big difference when you're squeezing into a parking space. Unfortunately, you can't get a Dodge in a 1-ton with a short bed.... stick with Ford, they're better trucks anyway.

Vette666
Jun-23rd-05, 2:21 pm
yup.. that's why we were torn between the two, b/c dodge doesn't offer a short bed OR a cab and chasis like ford does. i never drove a ford except a huge 550 w/a flatbed, and i hated it. but it's good for what it was made for. dodge is nice, ford is nice.. and i think they both look good. one of our friends has a new ford 3/4 ton diesel auto and he loves it to death ;)

mel, is yours a short bed or a long bed?

Don Juan

Mine is a short-bed - some say they don't pull as well but we tug a 44' trailer and don't have any problems.

TripleZero
Jun-24th-05, 6:54 am
I've driven both. I didnt like the ford to be honest. It had a lot of nice options but I just didnt really enjoy the drive as much as I did the Dodge. The dodge had more of a big truck feel to it which I really enjoyed. People sure do get out of the way when they see that huge grille comin up on em quickly. The new dodges are also a way better truck then the 94-02's were. Their transmission problems are almost nonexistant now. Ford... Well ford will continue to have their electrical problems. The ford felt really 'plasticy' also. I'd go with the Dodge if I were you. Ford trucks sell more because they're cheap in price.

Don Juan
Jun-24th-05, 6:56 am
thats true, but like i said, i am going to test drive all 3 this weekend and then go from there, but as for right now, im leaning towards ford.

get the titan. we have had a few of them come to work and the people love them, they have soo much storage, good power, good interior, and i think better looking than all of the others (unless your gonna get a F250, if you want a big truck, get a F250 with a diesel and 6 speed) titans have soo many options its not even funny. ive been in all of them (all fairly new) and imo, the dodge is the worst of all. haha yeah... we drove it to houston this weekend and this probably happened atleast 5 diff times.. there'd be a small car going slow in the fast lane, passing people.. slowly, but they were still going slow themselves, so we'd come up on them really fast until all they can see is the huge grill and then they'd gas it or something b/c they'd just take off. this one car had to be doing about 90 b/c we set the cruise back at 85 and they were still going  it was so funny the first time, but it got better as more cars started doing the same thing!

Jun-26th-05, 9:22 pm
My mom had a big Dodge, and true, it does have the "Big truck" feel to it.

The Ford feels like, just another truck. Nothing really special to it when compared to the other two.

The Titan, in my opinion, is the one to go with. It feels the most luxurious out of the three and feels more "technological" than brawn (But that goes for most import vs. domestic vehicles imo). One of my friends has a Titan and its just about the only truck I really like, and I'm not a truck fan.

Titan +1

I didnt have a change to drive the Titan this last weekend :headshake:

But I have decided to wait a couple of months to buy which ever one i decide on, im going to be changing jobs here in a month or less and I will be making 2x or 3x of what I get paid now, so that will give me the benefit to keep the prelude, fix it up and have a kick ass truck, i appreciate your guys (and gals) imput on everything, i learned a lot of things that i would have overlooked, thanks ;)

"hemi" is such an abused term. I always tell people their heads are "hemispherically shaped" and not a "hemi".

Lude, if you get a F150, I say go to Springdale Ford, I know some people there and the salesmen are cool. Are you getting a king ranch if you get the F150? If you go to Springdale, ask for Nathan Hickman, and tell him Josh Jones sent you. He'll get you setup with a good salesman, or he'll help you himself.

DING DING DING, we have a winner!

I am now the PROUD owner of the 2004 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Lariat, after the car show on saturday, I wanted to show my wife this kick ass truck I saw over at Ron Blackwell Ford, I wasnt out of my car for 1 minute when I had a salesman after me, I went to show it to my wife and he brought over the keys to drive it, when we came back, i asked for the price, he said $XX,XXX and was like "no shit" and he is like yep! So I just told him straight out, if I can get $XXX a month, sales tax paid AND a full tank of gas ill take it. 15 minutes later I was driving home my new truck :). To get specifics on the truck, its a 5.4L V8, 300hp and 360 ft lb of tourque, it has flowmaster dual exhaust, Fiberglass trunk lid, leather seats, 6cd changer on it, chrome bars and handles, and some other stuff that you will probably see later. So now when we go to MoKan I can haul all of your broken cars with mines! and for the first time, here is a big :nwams: to ya!!!

oh and if anyone wants to buy my prelude, it will probably be at Ron Blackwell ford sometime mid week, it DOESNT have my system in it, it is wired with RF and ready for a new one though, and it still has all of my 2 mods thats on it, and thats the DC header and the CAI, PLEASE some one buy it, I dont want to see a ricer buy and put a big ass wing on it or some shit like that!

1) its slow, i mean, fuck 17 at the 1/4 mile pass, thats just not right

2) preludes are tricky lil bitches, they have a lot of lil shit that likes to go wrong with it, especially the SS autos

3) Ive always needed a truck since i bought the house

I have issues with dodge trucks (other than the fact i think they're hideous), so out of those I'd say it depends on what you're going for.

If you get a Titan I advise against the gay ass piece of chrome bumper that makes the front end look like shit. Get the body color one or something.
