I was talkin with one of my fbody friends and he told me this story....

At school, the second period class's project was to pull the engine out of a Chevy Lumina and then just put it back in. Well some dumbass told them (I'm not in this class by the way) that they had to remove the timing chain to remove the engine. I cant think of one logical reason why this would have to be done. Well whoever put it back on didnt do it right. They went to go start the car back up yesterday and heard a loud slam! The piston in the number 5 cylinder slammed into the valve. The valve bent and slammed into the spark plug. The L part of the plug was bent straight and the middle part (the white part) was slammed and smashed into the middle of the plug. We took this fiber optic scope thing and looked into the spark plug hole and it looks like theres a hole in the piston.

He messed up BAD!!

The most stupid part of everything is that we have Mitchel on demand at school and they just didnt really use it. They were lucky cuz they just guessed that the nubmer 1 cylinder was supposed to be at TDC for valve timing. They didnt check this before.

Go figure that the two main people involved in this project are import car guys. One knows about rotarys and the other knows about Nissans. Neither one has ever delt with a pushrod motor. I had to explain the whole concept of the pushrod motor to the Nissan guy

how the hell could you not understand pushrod??? it is just 2 things bumping together lol. (to put it simply lol) what school was this at btw??? j/w cuz the shop teacher should have been supervising it. i wouldn't trust kids to take out a motor and then put it back in.
