I swear to god if I have to hear one more person say how cool the new POS V6 Mustangs are I'm gonna puke.



v6 mustangs are like Tauruses , there are about a million of them and they're POS's.



So if you like the new Mustang style save the compliments for a GT.


I swear when I went to te cruise two weekends ago and saw people gathering around the v6 Mustang i had a little throw up in teh back of my throat.


I still have that taste in my mouth and it's got lots to do w/ people talking bout POS cars like theyr'e special.




Personally I dislike the new body style and if you wanna see what I think of the Owners go look at the vid EVol8 posted.

Old people like the body style. My dad wants a new stang. Be atleast he said "I will not buy it unless I get the V8 and a manual. Other wise there's no point in buying a car like that"

the new mustang really isn't a POS. its barely slower than the 99-04 GTs with 2 less cylinders.

the engine is good, sohc 210hp, swap one in to an older ranger like mine and you're sure to hit high 14's, its been done (they first came in explorers, then rangers then mustangs)

however i hate the styling of the V6 stang, i'd be happy with a few aesthetic mods on the GT

I like the styling of the new Mustangs more than the last generation. Would I buy one? Hell NO. Mustangs are like Hondas (no offense to anyone) but EVERYONE has one, whether good or bad. I want something different, that people wouldn't quite expect. Ricky there, has a Jetta tricked out. I'm tryin to get some money issues settled then my Escorts gonna be one badass little car (yes, it's possible).

I see too many of them out there and I personally Hate Fords.

Corvette, GTO, Charger, or maybe even a Sti or an EVO could out run even a V8 mustang.

Mustangs in general are not being made to be insanely amazing with power or anything, they are made to be a cheap sports car. They are decent cars(I have owned one). I think the new body styling is pretty sweet (not a big fan of the front bumper but other than that). They look good for the purpose.

yeah i agree w/you redshark.. mustangs in general (even the v8's) are weak. and 98jones has a good point, they're meant to be a somewhat "fun" car the the general populace can offord. which would be why they ARE so common and not so powerful

mustangs are cheap cars so they are popular for what your getting. Plus they are cheap to mod(well the 5.0's anyways)

dude, look at the stats. the new v6 mustang makes 210 hp (not wheel mind you) and the 2004 Mustang GT makes 260 hp (not wheel) i have a few buddies who have drove them (the 5 speed and auto of the v6 and the GT) and were very surprised. 210 hp out of a v6 and only 260 from a v8?? the new GTs have like 300. that is not bad at all for your base model "performance" car.

i wouldn't be caught dead drivin one, and the simple fact remains, there are about as many v6 mustangs as there are Civics...so unless you like walkin up and oooohing and awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwing over a stock civic, it makes as much sense to do it over the stock v6 mustang. i'd take a stock 180hp 1.8t and probably beat the v6 mustang down the track.

I just think it's ignorance that sells Mustangs to people, I mean, ford's got a stronghold on the pony cars and I never liked 'em much , but at least w/ the old body style you still knew a V6 Mustang was like driving around in a GLAD storage container w/ some bad sheet metal hanging on the crappy uni-body design.



It's just a piece of crap wrapped in a new shiny package.

mustangs in general arent "that" slow. They put up the new GTO's against the 04 Mach 1, we are talking bout a 50hp advantage over the Mach 1 and the GTO still got beat. imagine what the cobra would have done to it. But about the new mustangs, they are alright, the v6 has evolved, it went from 145 in 95', to 150 in 98' to 190 in 99' to 210 in 05', at least the hp is going up and the tq is high too. I wouldnt buy one though, cuz im sure the prelude would kill it and im not going to pay 3x's more the money. Im just patiently waiting to see how bad ass the new cobras are going to be.

I'm disappointed that they didn't make the new GTs as fast as the LS1 f-bodies. I mean, come on, the LS1 debuted in 1998. Ford has had 7 years to come up with something in the GT. I mean, no doubt they did it with the '03-'04 cobra, but come on, the '05 is your next gen GT, you should at least have it as fast as an old f-body.

I don't know the weight on those Mach1s but if the GTO weighed the same the Stang wouldn't be able to keep up. Only reason the GTO isn't as fast as it should be is because of all that interior work that they did (which is nice) but a pain in the ass sometimes.

But, However, It did beat the Scion xB by a little bit...I'm a horrible driver on that game anyways and i was on the grand Canyon dirt track. :laugh:

Ok the v6 mustang is crap but I would pimp a 05 Gt convert. and the new cobras are goin to have 500 hp and they won't be punks.. Ford is coimg on strong..... they have always been behind chevy as far as horsepower numbers and this comes from a nissan and honda guy... low 13's are the bolt on ones, the ones running 11's have either a large turbo setup or are supercharged and tuned. Stock, they are not that impressive and not worth the money IMO. A Camaro SS would be quite a bit faster(and cheaper too.) I drive the 05's at least a couple times a week, and they just don't do it for me. I have driven many 2xx HP cars that pull harder than the 05 GT's(for example: srt-4's, crossfires, ect.).

Yeah, it would be a pretty good drivers race. Stock for stock though, the LS1's still have a bit of an edge. I was hoping the GT's would be as fast as the old LS1's though(not that i'm a much of a ford fan, but something has to represent the pony-car name).

aint that the truth, some people have to realize that mustangs arent just for the high performance guys, moms, old people and car-illetertate (sp) people buy them cuz they look nice, the 05 gt is no joke, it does run 13's stock, check any mag that has tried it out, and you will see it. ill tell you the truth right now, i bought a 96 V6 stang, just for the looks, i fixed it up and entered it in car shows, won 1st prize and 2nd place in the only 2 car shows i entered it before it was wrecked. I guess a lot people buy the mustangs for looks, which will explain why there are so many out there
