Well, on the way home last night from the Rogers movie theater. I get onto the highway heading towards Fayetteville and I notice some "HID" looking lights a ways behind me. I didn't think much of it since it was far away. Anyways, the car finially caught up to me just before I got to the Johnson exit. When I saw the car next to me, I knew it was an EVO. The black EVO got just about next to me at the bottom of the hill just after the Johnson exit . . . we then raced from a 70mph roll to about 110-115mph and I put about 4 car lengths on it. I was expecting a better race. . . but perhaps the uphill race gave me an advantage.
Anyways, now I can say I HAVE OWNED AN EVO.
:D

AWD Cars are worthless racing from a roll unless you have TONS of power.

Hey 73Stang,
You still have your camaro? You ran a 14.5 in the 1/4 with a 3.4 with just intake, exhuast, and pulley? I find that hard to believe. I believe you, but I've also seen the 3.4 in action and, well, it wasn't much to brag about. :D
Where are you from?
John, was he really racing you? I mean, or was he just driving fast...
I want to see an Evo in action sometime. I dont even know what they will do, they look a little ugly for my taste so havent payed much attention. Wouldnt mind the motor in my Talon tho

Congrats, EVO's are no slouch, but I know the guy who you raced and he doesn't know how to drive his car. He would give you a much better run from a dig.

EVOs are dang nice. Pretty dang quick too. Good kill, and I think he was racing you if you got up to 110-115 and he was still staying near you.
Nice kill.. makes perfect sense to me considering you have 60-70 hp on him. Just curious...what exactly was the "firehawk"? Was it an SS version of the TA? Got any pics? Would love to see the car sometime!

Yes and no. SLP's tuned version of the TA. John posted a link with a video a while back describing everything that's specific to the Firehawk.
A few things:
345 Rated BHP
17" Wheels
Firestone Firehawk Tires
Custom SLP Induction Hood
Firehawk Painting on the sides and rear of car.
Bilstein Shocks (I think)
There are a few more things but I can't remember them. If you search his previous posts in the Domestic Media Forum, you'll find his post with a video that explains everthing. I'll post it later if I have time to find it.

#1 - The only black Evo I know around here is this goober from Wal-Mart ISD and I can't see that Leave-it-to-Beaver dweeb trying to put it down, so I hope it wasn't him...
#2 - Around here, atleast right now, it's not even worth it messing with Evo's because there are 2 kinds of people here, in this area, that have them : either a) they have plenty of money but don't REALLY know why they are getting that car (usually, the afore-mentioned dweeb) or b ) the 2 or 3 people I know that got one, and they are cool people, don't get me wrong, but they have NO money left to SERIOUSLY mod the EVO out, so it goes wasted, so-to-speak.
No disrespect to any EVO owners and, don't mistake, I SURE AS HELL couldn't beat one (even though I'm sure some shit-talker will start on that trip now), but they just aren't for streetracers...there more for pure "automobile enthusiasts".
If you want an EVO, but you don't want to end up in the situation that John2Hawk described, just chunk your money into a high-interest account and chill for another couple of years, hoping that they bring the RS here (450hp out of the factory...only like 700 being made so get on the list QUICK).
