FYI ::

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, members of all ages...
There will be a picture opportunity for your vehicle coming up this spring...
Wal-Mart has agreed to allow us the use of their Claims Administration building.. the layout for the photo is more-or-less as many of you that want to be in it, parked sporadically (like we do at Loko's/Shakey's on Fri/Sat nights). The photographer will be on the roof to get a good aerial shot. Drivers can pose however they like (with taste, please) by their respective ride.
The date is not set yet, and they (Wal-Mart/CMI) want a decent amount of heads-up, so you'll have a good months notice, atleast, but I suggest that any cleaning up of mods to your exterior that you would like to have done before the photo, have them done probably by the end of April/beginning of May, if possible. If not, we'll see what can be done with the photo as far as placement of the car and what-not.
The photo will be used in various NWAImports.com supporting events and, possibly, merchandise, so maximum participation would be GREAT!

Nice Post, more Details will be posted once recieved.

I think if its quite a large amount of members, the picture size will make the vehicles rather small and minor defects to them will look "in-perfect condition". However, if there is not a lot of vehicles for the photo, your vehicle will be more noticable for the viewing of defects....
Not that we DONT WANT a lot of people :(

Exactly! We want this to be a memorable event. Though, it probably won't be but 30 minutes to an hour, we want you to be able to look back on it and say, "That was the day I met 'so-and-so'" or.. "I was wearing my 'Street Racing Is Not A Crime' t-shirt!" or... "I just got my Blitz Bodykit on that day!" ... Ya know, memorable stuff. :P

Anyways, I consider most of you members like family in a sense that, when I see some of you NWAi'ers out there doin' what you do, it makes me smile. There's so much togetherness, everyone helping each other out, trying to get to know each other and working together. It just feels good to know we've got such a great group of people. :thumbup:

Oh, I also need to check on pricing for duplicate photos in the 8 x 10 size, so we can also get you all a copy of the photos for a fee. I'm thinking it'll only been around $3-$5 for an 8x10 duplicate. We really need to get our shit together and get some dates for these events! :unsure:

as a suggestion maybe after the picture.... go out to like prarie creek by the ramps and use one of the pavelions and have a bbq/cookout... just so its not take a picture and then everyone leaves... make it an all day type of deal.

just an idea, and htere would be enough room for everyone to park.

if you want, my dad is a prof. photographer and has a bunch of cameras and also just got a new digital camera (Canon Digital Rebel SLR) I could ask him if he would take pics of the event... that way you can be inthe pictures and leave the bitch work to him lol

As far as the date, guys, we can push back to the beginning of May if you'd like, for everyone that's graduating.
How is Sunday, May 9th for everyone.
We'll need to do it on Sunday, because there are quite a few managers that come in on Saturdays to work. Sunday, there should be practically nobody else there, so we'll have the ENTIRE front parking lot.
Let me know if anyone plans to be gone for this weekend.

I hope you all understand the reason for, and can maintain a certain amount of, flexibility. With the large number of participants, it comes with the territory.

We need to attempt to do it somewhere between 11AM and 1-2PM, so that the sun is not a problem in with the photo. :D

I think we can shoot for noon...then, if everyone wants, we can take over some nearby joint for a group lunch, then on to a cruise day, maybe. We definitely want all the members we can get in..

"Due to insurance purposes" the corporate pansies won't chance us letting one mature adult who has handled himself fine, I'm sure, for the last (however old asylum's dad is) years of his life climb up on a practically 1 story building for less than half an hour to snap some pictures of our group.
The date is still set at this time...I'll scout out another location that will be just as good, if not better.

I was actually talking with Lindsey today about just getting a really tall ladder or something...#1 - Wal-Mart said we can't "climb on top of the building"...they didn't say anything about the parking lot & #2 - the photographer doesn't HAVE to be as high as the roof of the building...as long as we get him high enough for a good shot.

First, I need to thank Merkur for showing me the error of my ways...
Then, a HUGE apology to all mothers, especially mine, for not having given thought to this annually momentus occasion.

Now, since the following weekend (May 15/16) is the weekend of graduation and there will be some members involved in family gatherings that Sunday, I would like to go ahead and set the date of photo shoot for May 23rd (Still Sunday), still approximately NOON, for those that work that day.
I am still scouting a location, but I am going to run the fact that the photographer is a Wal-Mart employee by the powers that be and see if that flips the coin over.
If not, I'll have a primo spot chosen in plenty of time to make the necessary arrangements.

As far as the location is concerned, we WILL be using the Wal-Mart Claims building parking lot (NORTHEAST CORNER OF 8th AND WALNUT AVE IN ROGERS), but we can not use their building as a perch for the photographer, so we are exploring other possibilities.
** If anyone knows anyone who has access to a big cube-style cargo truck, that would rock...a large truck (Gorman's dad's Dodge might work) that is possibly lifted might be a decent one two. We'd like to get the shot from about 20ft. up (give or take).

Lazarus said he has access to a 20ft ladder if that helps. But also said we'd need "quite the truck" to haul it b/c it weighs about 300 pounds.

Yes...the day is DEFINITELY May 2nd (with rain date as May 16th ; sorry seniors, but there's just not another opportunity)...I tell you what, I'm gonna check on a LOOOOONG shot tomorrow and see if I can't get a place to make the raincheck for May 8th. (If this works, it may be the COOLEST place for a pic).

And, YES, if Lazarus can get the ladder, I'll get the truck to haul it in. My dad has a 16ft. flatbed trailer, if nothing else.

For those that get out around 11-12 and/or go to church a little bit far from Rogers, the picture will not get shot IMMEDIATELY at noon...we'd like to not have to keep everyone there for too long because some have to go to work, but if you can get there by qtr after noon or close, you'll probably make the shot. We'll have to get everyone situated so that will take some time.

The official 1st Annual Picture Day for NWAImports.com Members & Guests will be held this upcoming Sunday May 2nd, 2004. This is the day AFTER
our NWAi Custom Car & Truck show in Bella Vista, Arkansas. The photo
shoot will be @ 12 NOON or a little after.

The photo will be for any NWAImports.com member and any guests of their
choice. Imports & Domestics are included. Everyone is invited! So bring
whom you want! This photo will be used in various NWAImports.com
supporting events and even merchandise, so maximum participation would be
GREAT!

Wal-Mart has agreed to allow us the use of their Claims Administration
building.. the layout for the photo is more-or-less as many of you that
want to be in it, parked sporadically (like we do at Loko's/Shakey's on
Fri/Sat nights). The photographer will be on the roof to get a good
aerial shot. Drivers can pose however they like (with taste, please) by
their respective ride.

The location is the Wal-Mart Claims Administration Main Building. (The
large grey building on the SOUTHWEST CORNER OF WALNUT AVENUE & 8TH
STREET IN ROGERS. Next door to Braums, across the street from McDonalds,
Dominoes, Sonic & Taco Tico. If you're unsure of the location please
e-mail nwaimports@yahoo.com so that we can dismiss any misunderstandings
you may have.

And again, this is a great way to get out and meet new people and see
the faces behind the names on NWAi. So get out there this Sunday and
show us what's goin on! Bring yourself and as many guests as you'd like!

NWAi would like to greatly thank Jason (Jasonslyric00) for his awesome

If so, I see the only way we're gonna get this shot done is then and there. I need everyone to come out with their rides shinin' tomorrow. Even if you're not getting IN the show, bring them out and pimp them.

Here's the deal : We will shoot for 12-ish to take the picture. If ANYONE can't be there right at or very little after noon, please call me at (I'm taking a chance here, so be cool guys) 479-866-0232 and let me know. Leave a message if you get my voicemail. <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>I NEED TO KNOW WHO NEEDS AN EXTENSION OF TIME!! We will hold off as long as we can, but since registration is before 2pm, I assume they'll want everyone in their place for the show by 1:30 or so.</span>

If the weather should be unsuitable for the show on Sunday, we will HAVE to do the photo shoot Satruday, May 8th. Can't people just pull their cars up to the photo opp spot and then leave it there while the pics are being taken and register during that time? Or do they have to have their cars right there when they register?

Registration is where you come up, hand them $20 and they give you a registration card. You can leave and go do whatever, but you have to be back by like 1:45-2:00pm, when the judging starts. :2thumbsup:

Ok...I didn't realize he was coming back so soon.
Now, the 30th of May is Memorial Day weekened and I'm sure there will be people out of town (hell, I'll be on the river in Noel).
The next weekend (June 5th) is the IMPORT SHOOT OUT @ MOKAN...
Does everyone want to get together the next day (i.e. JUNE 6th), Sunday, and do the shoot, or wait until the next weekend after that????

why not do it right after the show today? just whoever is there can be in it and we can plan another one better instead of just moving the dates around.... all the cars will pull up in the parking lot behind the mall near that wall and my dad can climb up that wall to be elevated and snap the picture... just an idea.

This is the first Import Shoot-Out of 2004 at Mo-Kan Dragway.
I hate to set it for so far away (Joplin, MO), but this is an event where we are positive we'll have the absolute largest concentrated group of NWAImport.com members.
Please, even if you don't race, bring out your ride. BDP and GreddyGurl are gonna see what they can do about "borrowing" the tower to take the picture. One way or another, we WILL do the shot then and there.

I think we were discussing possibly shooting the photo from the tower or so. It wont be a real CloseUp so you shouldnt need to worry about the bugs. We arent all for certain yet on how everything will need to be arranged, but you can guarantee it wont be as screwed up as the car show dates were :lol:

Once we find info and get the ball rolling, we will inform you guys how it will go down. :2thumbsup:
