I don't mean to critisize you, by no means. I just do car audio everyday, and have reason to wonder why you choose what you choose. Don't worry about explaining. I'm sure you have your reasons. Other than that, call up Keith, he can make you what ever you want!

Here's what I would recommend... Depending on what subs you use, put the 4 12s in a sealed box, about .5 cubic foot more than what they require. This will help on your looow frequencies. Run them off of one amplifier that will push them. Put your two 10's in a sealed box, at their recommended air space. Run them off of a separate amplifier. Get a good crossover to control your two amplifiers. Tune the 12's to slope off at about 65hz, and put a subsonic filter on them to stop at their factory spec low frequency. Then, set the frequency control on the 10's to play from 60 to about 200hz. That will give you a nice, tight response.... Do a good 6.5" component set in the front, and tune them from 120hz and up. That will broaden your whole system.... I've now got an RTA meter at the shop, and can fine tune your system for Sound Quality, per IASCA or USACi rules. As for tweeters, it depends on what music you like. If you listen to music w/ a lot of guitar or strings, aluminum tweeters and midbasses would be best. If you like vocals, thick paper cones and silk tweeters are recommended. Good, tight bass response can be had w/ plastic cones, and most other firm cones. Make sure that you purchase a headunit that has front, rear, and sub outputs to control everything, thats all you have to worry about.

That would be cool, I've got the RTA like I said, so we can tune it to SQ Specs, and you can adjust it from there if ya want!!!!!!!!!

They're better than them all. Let me explain...
Kicker- Good Stuff, gets really loud. But, their stuff isn't advancing much. The only way to get good sound is to spend hella cash. All of the big shots that use their stuff, such as Alma Gates, Gary Biggs, and Mark Eldredge, are all changing to JBL, which is our line right under diamond.
Audiobahn- Their scheme is this: Take the money, use 75% to advertise, and the other 25% for Research and Development. Their stuff used to be awesome, that is back when it was affordable. I used to run audiobahn. Used to. :)
Cerwin-Vega- Not cool since the mid 90's. They made the stroker, it made big waves for a few years, then other companies made their equivalent of that sub, and its reputation was the only thing that sold it. They make poor quality subs. The grey C-V's that say HID or something of that nature, are horrible. Their old "Vega" series subs, the hard paper cones w/ the red surrounds on them, they loosen up too quick. Poor suspension, sloppy response.
Rockford Fosgate- Ah, good old rockford. I used to run rockford, back when it was good. 3 XLC 12's, and a 40.2 amp. Rated at 80 watts, and pushed more power than a little bit. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Then, half the company sold out. They changed the looks, but quality control went down. The constuction of the subs is poor. They started mass producing cheap amplifiers for corporations such as best buy, etc, w/ false claims. Ex, 1500w. amp, pushes 300w. Horrible. They do make a good line, but you pay dearly for it.
Lightning Audio- Rockford Fosgate stuff. Subsidiary company, made so they could sell to other companies, such as Walmart. Sucks butt.
There are hundreds of car audio companies out there... For subs, here's my 5 favorites....
-Alumapro (Alchemy's)
-Diamond Audio
-JL Audio
-ARC Audio
-Image Dynamics ID's
There are a few others, but I can't think of them now.
Car audio brands are all plentiful, and there are a bunch of good quality brands that no one knows about. Consumer to consumer, even if I didn't work at at Diamond Audio dealer, I would run their component sets. It would be a close tie between Diamond's M6 subs and Alumapro's Alchemy subs..... Just before you buy, make sure to do the research, it will be worth it.......
