home made supercharger (http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/supercharger) if not you can make your own very cheap and parts found at your local hardware store

all that will do is block airflow and decrease performace. I saw something like that on ebay i got a kick out of it

A couple friends and I were going to gut a car like a hatch Civic or so. We were going to install a fairly larger lawn mower engine in the passenger side (where the seat goes) and use it to turn some pulleys to pump air like a turbo or something. We were going to run an air intake from the passengerside window and run it through the firewall to an intercooler if needed then the intake. We figure we could pump alot of air with a good pulley setup but just never tried it.

We didnt have the car, we didnt have the motor, no air pump/devices, no money :D

I sorta wish someone would try it, it could be kinda cool if it worked just REALLY LOUD. I dunno if the track would let you race with a "TWIN MOTOR" car

HEY, I was young - wha do you expect?

This sounds suspiciously like a flame-thrower.

That actually would kind of work..... But I don't think its worth the time and effort. If you just have a fan blowing at the same speed, then your performance will suck. You'll have too much air at idle, and you'll be too rich past 4k or so. Now, if someone could make one that would spin faster and push more air at higher RPMs, then it may work a little better.

I've seen something like this on Ebay too. Has anyone else seen the 'blow off valves'?? Thats great. Its a little pump thing that shoots air under your hood when you shift so it sounds like you have a turbo. Pretty funny

Its a damn Marine bilge pump, that shit won't work. Go to
www.homemadeturbo.com
and look what they had to say about that junk.

SHIT!!!!!!
:( :( :( :(
THAT WAS MY DAMN IDEA!!!! UNLESS THIS GUY HAD THE IDEA PRIOR TO LAST SPRING, I HAD IT FIRST!!!!Mine was simple though...just take a common powerful leafblower, get an intake tube for a twin turbo, the double ported ones, keep your filter on one port, and attach the other one to the tube on the end of the leafblower. Anyway...GRRRRR!!
I'm calling the patent office on the next idea....

Yea, I remember us discussing that when we met. Didnt we talk about the engine thing too???

Also on Electric stuff, you gotta remember that the more powerful the fan/compressor running off 12v - the more juice the Altenator will require to push the amperage. So it will cause the motor to bog down just a little as well.

The engine thing in the passenger seat would also be connected to the vehicle throttle someway to increase power at higher RPMs.
