back from the dead.... an H22 in an otherwise stock CRX would get low 14's maybe (I think). The H22 is very heavy compared to the 1.5/1.6 that was in there stock. The launch would be hella bad on stock suspension. When launching, the rear of the car would just sit down, and the front would come up a bit; and with all of that torque, and being that the car is so light, you may be lucky to get a 3 second 60' time.
Also, you would either spin insanely off the line, or you might get some wheel hop and break your axles .

As I said before, high 12's. I have 4 friends in Tulsa w/ EG hatchbacks w/ stock H22a's in them, and they all run mid 13's. You subtract the extra weight and put in a good driver, high 12's in a CRX all day.

The magic words... :D
This may be my favorite strip car combination...I dont' care what anyone says, if I could get a '92-'95 JDM EG (w/CF lip and hood, and Mugen 15's for the street) with a TC'd and tuned H22A, fully setup(suspension/drivetrain included) for track but interchangeable (somewhat for street...HOW ABOUT A SPOON SETUP!!!), you would be looking at a man who does not need a whole lot more out of life.

That's the funniest thing...
The 96-00 HB is a VERY CLOSE 2nd to the previous generation, but only for a little while now.
The 4th gens WERE my favorite for quite sometime...I guess I just got a little more into the 3rd gens now...it'll probably switch back in the next year or so.

4th gen Civic = 88-91 = EF = My car!
5th gen = 92-95 = EG
6th gen = 96-00 = EK
1st gen CRX = 84-87
2nd gen CRX = 88-91 = EF
Just thought I'd clarify because I was confused by your last statement. All the same....

4th gens all the way!!

Hmm, didn't know that. We just always called them pre-EFs or just did the whole 3gCivic/1gCRX.
