Here is the newest addition to our chat softwares. This chat uses your cookies to detect who you are and a Flash Applet instead of the previous version's Java.

<center>THIS POST IS FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY. YOU MUST USE A POP UP TO CHAT!
This is said only because in some cases the browser cookies will not allow users to log into this applet because it is embedded.
You should find a link for a popup on the front of the forum or at the top of the forums.

This chat has no user changable qualities nor does it have smilies.
This is just a quick fix since the last Java applet crapped out!
Note this same style applet is available through Invision (who makes these forums) but it costs between $80 and $200 a year just to use it :rofl: </center>

THIS IS THE OLD CHAT USED FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF NWAI! Due to Script Errors and a new host, this poor little chat client is dead :( He may return once more for a comeback sometime in the future but as of now, I do not have the time or energy to reprogram stuffs.

To enter, Use the pre-selected Browser Setting unless it is causing you errors.
Any other Setting will not let you choose AutoScrolling Feature.
Feel free to check them all out tho

PLEASE Continue down to my UPDATES post for more information.
DO NOT CLICK REFRESH or F5 on your Browser. You will be logged out.
The Script for the Chat automatically refreshes what it needs to after a few seconds.
If you have Windows XP you might hear clicks.

WHISPERS:
upon Entering, the Chat will great you via <system> whisper
A <system> Whisper is a message only You can see.
If this does not load, it is normal. You message may not appear for a couple seconds because it is waiting to be refreshed.

INFO:
You can type "/?" for chat information.

COLORS:
To Use the color Boxes on the Left, you must Click a color and press Send or Enter.
Any Text/message entered after that will be the color you selected.

PRIVATE MESSAGES:
To message another user, click on their name and it will insert /msg 'user'
you have to enter your text after the user's name
Ex: /msg BDP HI BDP, wuzup???
Please read UPDATES below for Warnings on PM's in Chat

ROOMS:
There is currently only one room: the Lounge

REFRESHING:
To refresh Member names or the Roomlist: click "refresh" inside the room

As well, if someone is reading this thread, it sort of means, "HEY, I'M IN CHAT!" So, this way you can tell if anyone is in there. :)

UPDATES:


LOGGIN IN/OUT:
(01/22/04) I have successfully scripted the Chat to Log a user out if they click "X" or leave the forum topic.* Altho, users will not see them leave except the name will dissapear after 20 Seconds.

BUGS FOUND:
If you Whisper to another Person, there is a BUG in the programming and it MIGHT repeat the whisper on YOUR screen ONLY - until someone logs into chat.* I dont wanna even try to work that script out :lol:


BROWSERS:

Use only the "An alternative version for modern browsers if the one above did not work. Uses JavaScript and Frames" if you can, the others will not Let you Auto Scroll.*

Use "A version that only uses Frames, but no JavaScript" if you have errors with the first one.

Use "A version for the Zuum WebTV box" for Simple Line Text with no JavaScript.
