How can i make higher compression im my car and what will that do for power? :surp:
Sorry man, I'm goin to bed but I dont know enought about those little nissan motors to even guestimate.
For most engines its a matter of shaving your deck/head and changin out the pistons to compensate for different compression. When doing work such as compression you have to consider internal issues such as clearances and heights as well. Alot of people Shave off a few Milimeters with a thiner Head Gasket which will change the ratio also.
I just thought I'd throw my $.02 before I crashed out. Like I said, I know basically nothing of those smaller Nissan motors so dont quote ME.
I'm not trying to run you off or anything, but there is someone over at Nissan Forums (http://www.nissanforums.com/) who has us linked on their profile. Maybe you could check them out as well?

Fuck it man, red neck the shit. Pull off the head gasket, and put a layer of duct tape down. (If you really do this, I will kick you in the throat.)

THats funny mali! I definetly won't do that. But BDP how much power can i get from that. Is it worth it. :surp:
I cant give you any specs or estimates on power, cause I dont know that motor. (Nissan 1.6 - 1.8 [GA16] - [B13])
Just curious but why are you wondering about compression? For the cost I would just do upgrades to the computer/electronics ie: Injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, Exhaust, Chip upgrades but I know your saving for your headers and such.
I know you are 'new' to the import family/scene and thats why we're here to help. Internal engine mods can change alot of static sensor information and will require knowledge of many different areas.
Good luck with your car

Honestly, if you want to make a faster car, save you money, and get an SR20DET Bluebird motor. :) Turbo! Woo Hoo!

psh, go for the Fairlady. :D I don't think I can smile any bigger. There was one on Ebay for $500 plus shipping with transmission, and it sold with one bid. I wanted to beg people on the streets for money to buy that.
The TT wouldn't really be a realistic swap for your Sentra, and I would probably go for the SR20DET too. As far as higher compression goes, like BDP said, a good way is to mill the head/block. You can buy thinner headgaskets that will help out a little bit. Other than that, check out some aftermarket piston companies. I know its expensive, but hey, you'll get higher compression :). What kind of compression do you have now? Another possiblity is just to run a small amount of boost if your compression is low enough. 9:1 is about what you want in a stock boosted motor, and don't push more than 8 psi.

Fairlady.......... Ahhhhhhhhh Haha Me likey!
Anyways, just leave your stock motor alone. Save for the SR20. Raising your compression also means you have to run a higher octane fuel, which costs more, and if you don't have money for the SR20, you sure as hell don't have money for that. Haha Trust us mang. Haha
....Injectors, Plugs, Fuel Rail, O2 and other various sensor upgrades....
That of course depends on certain undefined factors. You might get by with not having to do anything, but I can assure you that other problems would arise.
 Then you'd be back here asking how to fix it
Peace
