any1 want to this weekend weather permitting? I will have the 120 miles i need by Friday/Sat. to complete the process. PM me and let me know. We can set up some details through PMs instead of posting stuff for every1 to view.

I prefer no $ involved.

Mr. Merk
Jan-19th-04, 10:51 pm
i will! with a bad tranny, radiator AND exhaust manifold! hahaha, yah right, (this just means new tranny, dual core radiator and headers, hehe)......i'm an idiot

ya'll his car sounds badass now, for not having intake or exhaust, all i can say is daaayummm, way to be caleb

i remember just over a year ago, we rolled down to razorback, caleb couldnt drive worth a shit, someone asked him to spool up the turbo, he had no freaken idea what it meant, now look at the kid, he put a new freaken engine in a damn rx7 almost single-handedly, big props caleb! we're all proud of you.....just be careful on the street man

I knew how just wasnt used to the terms every1 was using.

Any takers?

I8ayellowcrayon
Jan-19th-04, 11:20 pm
I think you need to re-word that to say "any serious takers?", because I'll race you in my Isuzu Hombre!! Hell yeah! Its got a cone filter on it, booya, I must be pushin 120hp man!

I actually may be somewhere around 120 on the serious side :). In a vehicle that weighs 3200 pounds. Get someone in an F-body to race you, like JohnHawk02 (I think thats his SN), he has a TA Firehawk. That would be a pretty good race I think. No offense man, but I think he could take you ;).

3rdgenRX7
Jan-19th-04, 11:23 pm
ill race the f-body club if they will do a roll also

I8ayellowcrayon
Jan-19th-04, 11:27 pm
Hit them up. I'm sure someone from NWAFBA or whatever will read this before this weekend. Hmm, from a roll, thats a completely different story.... your 7 against the Firehawk from 50 on the interstate.... that would be a good race :D.

I raced two ppl tonight a ford svt lightning and a sti.

I lost both times everything was fair ect. I know I lost and excuses are pointless, but my friend and the people there saw that the hose to the air-by pass valve come undone before the first race.

I drove it home and had my friend put his hand over it too see if air came out when the hose was off while i was still reving and it did. So I was getting no secondary boost.

I want a rematch against atleast the STI.

Hey where do you usually race? You, me, and James (SRT4) should have a 3 way race. It would be cool to see 3 totally different cars with 3 different setups go at it.

We should get someone to video it too.

that lightning was crazy fast! hahah, hopefully i'll be able to run w/ you in a couple weeks, but ass soon as the turbo is on, i gotta let the engine break in and get used to it. ne ways, i'm up for watching a 3-way race.. hahah.. later

Why would I take the hose off and risk damage to my turbos? Any1 that has been around me when I have raced knows that I have horrible luck with my car. The hose fell off before I ever got to the spot were we raced.

I am not saying I will be them if we race again. I would just like another chance at it with everything working right.

We raced on a 2 lane road last night. I only know of 1 place to get a four car race going at we can only run once.

he ripped a vacuum hose off his car(didnt think we were watching) and then called us over there and proceeded to tell us that he lost cause he was not getting any boost. Besides the hose he ripped off was from his BoV and does not affect boost anyway.

Honestly, why would anyone do that? Let alone 3rdgen, he's quite a bit smarter than that, man. :P

I used Shanes two K&Ns when I raced. I have stock turbos, stock cat, stock cat-back, and stock fuel system. I have a DP, pigyback(w/ boost controler), and street port(which is different then on a piston engine).

The hose did not go to a BOV it went to my air bypass valve and yes it does effect my performance. I had no boost out of the second turbo which is on after 4500rpms which I am above excpet in 1st gear. The air just blew out the hole where the hose went. No pressure- no boost.

Let me get my new tires and learn how to launch my car again. I swear I will do 10 times better at keeping up.

The 350Z beat me but I know I can do better with some more practice. I have been out of driving for 4 months so I have to get used to the car all over again. Its even worse because I have more power. I do think that the guy that ported my engine stretched the truth when he gave me HP figures to expect, but he was including exhaust work.

You beat me far and square. If bets would have been made I would have paid. My whole point is you did not beat me at my best. When I race and beat someone I want to know it was there best or close to it.

3rdgenRX7
Jan-24th-04, 3:27 am
Thats fuckin lame of you Mister Blender. I had nothing but positive comments no shit talking and you have to go on another forum and talk shit. The hose did not go to a BOV I do not have a BOV they are air bypass valves there is a diff. I am also not running a lot higher then stock. Stock is 10psi and I had it set on 12psi. Not like it mattered It wasnt getting to my engine.

Anyone that has been around when I have raced knows that I have had a lot of problems. Shit 200 miles after the new engine was put in it broke down. Then 20 miles after fixing it, it broke down again. Ill give you you fuckin cookie if you want it shit. YOU BEAT ME. I am not some lame ass ricer that pulled some ricer flyby shit. FUCK You were the first person for me to race in 4 months and I raced you the day after I broke my engine in. You expect me to have everything perfect???

I had respect for you but you just lost that. I know I will proboly not beat you even though i have a weight advantage. You have 200 more rwhp then I do. I wish some more people around here owned modified RX7s. I know some ppl that are fast and can drive. I cant drive.

Show some fuckin maturity and dont talk shit when I didnt.

Jan-24th-04, 1:32 pm
I think it might be relevant for me to add a few things to this. I DID miss 3rd gear on the 2nd attempt. Also, Caleb did seem to launch in the races with the lighting, but seemed to hesitate on our races. This affected my launch as well b/c I wanted to get a real idea of how the cars compared. After the races with the "L" it was decided that we should allow the 7 to cool down a bit, when they popped the hood, he was checking over a few things in the engine compartment and started pulling on a hose. They said it was kind of loose, but it should be ok. After we were through, we looked under the hood again and by the time I got over there the hose s disconnected. Now i'm probably not near as knowledgable about the engine in that car, but I did ask if it was connected to the wastegate and I was told no. I would assume that that hose being loose would slightly affect performance, but the hose was only attached at one end...the other was just hanging loose...apparently that was normal. I really don't see how it could have affected one of the turbo's producing boost, but like I said, I'm not as familiar with a rotary turbo engine. I didn't think there would be any shit talking as a result of this, but apparently there are some people that got kinda pissed.

On another note, I would be happy to give a rematch. I drove a modded WRX for 2 years and it was nothing like my STi. I'm still not used to the car and I think my driving shows this on the tape. I'm going to be installing a new header soon, so if Caleb would like to rematch before or after, just let me know.

Bri

Shake hands and move on guys...... B)

dr.n---can i help you work on the car?

3rdgenRX7
Jan-24th-04, 1:43 pm
Ill try and explain:

The hose in question is to the air bypass valve for the sendary turbo. The black rubber hose connects to the valve which has a vac. line running to it. The valve opens, when you shift or let off the gas, to let built up boost escape. The hose was off completely so air was continually blowing out the hole where it should have been connected. I had primary boost but that cuts off at 4500rpms which im above all the time except 1st gear.

I dont know if that help at all. If I see you when it not so dark ill show you, or try too. Yea i would like a rematch but give me some time to learn how to drive the car again. Its a completly different with the new engine. I also need some tires but I should have those by next weekend.

Jan-24th-04, 1:44 pm
I know I hate making excuses but this is the truth. You would have to really know me to understand.

Dr.Nick
Jan-24th-04, 1:47 pm
I really don't see how that is any different from a BOV that vents totally to the atmosphere. I also don't see how it controls how much if any boost is being produced by the second turbo. In my car, the BOV does the samet thing except mine vents half to the atmosphere and half back into the intake, the wastegate and the computer control the boost. Now I can see how that would cause a temporary stall between shifts, but I don't see how it would affect the turbo's ability to put boost into the motor.

3rdgenRX7
Jan-24th-04, 1:51 pm
ill give you a ride with on and with it off. Ill let it speak for itself.

its still making boost its just that its not getting to the engine cause of the open whole where the hose should be.

Dr.Nick
Jan-24th-04, 1:54 pm
I'm not trying to call you a liar, i'm just not understanding. I saw where the hose connected to the engine, but I also saw the valve and the vaccum line that was attached. I don' t think that your secondary snail is pumping the boost for the engine through a vaccum line that tiny. Did I miss another line coming off of the valve?

BTW, I'm sure the car runs better with that whole assembly working correctly, and like I said when we first met up...I have a thing for 3rd gen RX-7's, I'd love to take a ride.

Here we go again. I made my post over at f150online.com that finishes this conversation. Like I stated 3rdgen I would have had absolutely NO problem if you wouldn't have made those excuses but you really rubbed me the wrong way when you went to pulling the immature "I lost the race because of this" shit. Take your loss with some pride next time and do go spouting off shit about a hose that does not affect your boost. Yeah it was unhooked.......But the other end connected to NOTHING....whats it matter if it is unhooked or not. It is like me putting a 2 foot extention on my exhaust pipe...it makes no difference. I could understand if the other end was supposed to be connected to something, but it was just stuck up under the hood by your air filter. How did you expect me to react when you come back to your haven here saying that. I am proud of my truck and proud when I win as I am sure you are of your car. What if i told you that my truck hits the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift about 50% of the time cause of a problem with my chip and that I had detonation in 3rd gear on my street tune. I didn't bring that up and would not have if I lost. That is why I'm upset. Grow up.

As for MurKurv6Truck.....I will take this moment to have everyone read the end of your signature and doubt I have to say anymore. You said plenty for yourself. At least you admit that you spew ignorance all over your surroundings. Have a nice night.

3rdgenrx7....fix your shit ( if you really think it needs it) and lets race again sometime. Not trying to mess with your pride or your mind so please dont mess with mine.

Jan-24th-04, 8:37 pm
Now it's my turn.

Alright, first of all. There's nothing wrong with racing, and losing. There's nothing wrong with racing, and winning either. But to win, and not only glout, but to talk shit as well? So, it's fine that you won, Mister Blender, nothing wrong with that, whatsoever. But after you win, you harden the blow by saying shit like...

After i beat him twice he had the best excuse ever.....he ripped a vacuum hose off his car(didnt think we were watching) and then called us over there and proceeded to tell us that he lost cause he was not getting any boost.

You know, a sufficient, "Dude, I beat this RX7" and proceeded to tell what happened.. Would have been fine. But trying to embaress the kid more by stating out numerous faults-- thats just not cool.

I don't care if he did rip a hose off. You're trying to say, "Be more mature, Grow Up.." etc, etc.. But yet you're the one being immature about all of this.

Isn't it enough to know that you won? Regardless of running on the F150 forum and saying, "I need some support over on the rice forum...anyone care to have some fun??? The link is in my first post." If you're so sure of yourself, why do you need 'backup' from your buddies? State your case and walk away, thats all that needs to be said. Besides this, I'm not about recruiting members over to our board for fighting/arguing.. It's just not something that I consider "mature."

You know, I do have respect for Lightnings, and I know they are fast.. If I raced one, yeah, I'd lose. But I'd expect the driver to be a little more mature and a little less puerile about it.

Acumen; It works.

Mister Blender
Jan-24th-04, 10:03 pm
You do have a good point yet I did not invite you over to my forum at f150online and therefore nothing I said there pertains to this discussion. I am sick and tired of all these people that think they are professional street racers after seeing the fast and the furious acting like little whiny babies when they loose(and no I am not talking JUST about 3rdGenRx7...he did it with some style). I have never made one excuse for any race that I have ever lost. I am not gloating, nor am I talking shit. I am just tired of hearing about all of the reasons why someone would loose except the real one. I am the only one being real about the whole thing. He did come clean and say that part of it was his driving and I am fine with that. Takes a person with a lot of self respect and balls to admit that to the whole internet(especially on the lightning forum...props for that). If you want to go over to the f150online forums and post your shit talking then be my guest. I am in the lions den here posting so please do the same. That would make your post fair. I did not talk any super shit over here. I understand you guys dont like it when someone with a domestic vehicle comes and beats one of you guys that put a lot of time and money into your car and then post about it elsewhere but face it: this is the internet. I have no problem with 3rdgen, he seemed like a decent guy. I do not particularly like the rice group as a whole. My shit was around way before this rice started with the "Fast and the Furious." Now you people think you have the fastest vehicles around. Quit hating folks when they win. I admit I may have come across a bit shrewed over here and most of your complaints are probably from my post in the Lightning forum, but face it...im in the lightning forum with a bunch of my fellow lightning owners that have the same outlook about import cars with body kits that I do. So go ahead and lie to yourself if you think that 3rdgen would not have posted some shit like I did on this or another forum that I did not visit. I thought it would be fun to talk/race with some of the other notable vehicles in NWA, but obviously everyone likes to talk shit about the BS reason for their loss only to come clean later. If you want me to leave just say the word. I'll go away. But if you want some decent competition for some fun this summer then quit acting like babies and lets get back to business.

Where did the "rice" come from? Caleb is NOT rice and NEVER will be. His car cost more than your truck did and picks up more chicks than your truck could ever dream of. Not hating, just clearing up that his car isn't made to look fast and sound fast and have no go. That's about as clear of a definition of "rice" as you can get.

As far as the race goes, yeah, he lost. He had a leak, or he didn't. It doesn't matter because if he's confident he'll win again he'll race you again. If you watch the video of him vs KJY9, you'll see there's a lot of driver error and he does have almost bald tires. No excuses, just facts. He shouldn't race if that's going to be the situation but who cares. It's SUPPOSED to be FUN.

Thanks for that post, I dont want hard feelings or anything to anyone.

It is my opinion that 3rdgen isnt trying to be a street racer, just trying to work out the bugs in his car. He does not have money to run to the track every weekend. Yes, it is a bad Idea to be street racing, because we all know anyone who races on the street turns out to be a street racer/Ricer.

I dont think 3rdgen was all about who would win, just wanted to run. I was upset only when I saw how you refered to smoking him on 'your' forum. The way you worded it kinda set me off since I knew that he just wanted to run for fun.

Please understand Mr. Blender, he does not race as many people daily as you may, so he really doesnt have a whole lot of 'street racing' experience... Please correct me if I'm wrong Caleb.

His car is having its issues, but we all told him your stock 1/4 mile times and he still insisted on racing you because he wanted to compair the time to his new motor.

I will not sign up on the f150 forum because I dont really have any opinions on the f150 or anything, but thanks.

I dont like to cause problems with members or participate in arguments but I felt I should help defend 3rdgen, because I was in the same place as him a few years ago. The 'rice' scene has become well known since F&TF and it is harder now to make a descent name for yourself let alone your car.

I dunno, your welcome here as far as im concerned and I appreciate you making a post and not getting more defensive or disrespectful in my eyes.

I hope everyone can just get over this and drop it.

It was a race, you won (quick truck)

Alright, your post is, well, your post. Mind you, this forum as well as F150Online.com is a public forum, and does not belong solely to you. Shall I remind you, those posts are viewable by anyone. Not limited to yourself or other F150 owners. Anything you said in public--internet or not, is information viewable by anyone that does happen to find it. There is no limitation, not even to Import owners, such as myself..

But as I see it, your entire above post is just aberrating away from the original topic at hand. Attacking import owners is certainly not a good way to make friends or potential races, especially on a local, public, import forum. Whether you're here to make friends or not-- its not good public relations. Manners are key.

Tact is always a good thing to use or have when addressing something you seemingly have so much pride in, maybe you should use this when trying to point out the faults in others' skill. Without this, there is really no reason to even read the mongrel of text you just applied to this public forum.

Regardless, you're welcomed here. Whether respect will come from other members that did not know you prior to your recent posts- this is questionable. The admins try to give benefit of the doubt to everyone, whether or not we agree with what you're saying, we are not biased on making any decisive actions against your account. We've yet to ban anyone on this forum, and we're not looking to.

So, chat it up, we don't mind. But pay proper homage to those who deserve it.

Something I would like to add along to Flawlez's post... Keep in mind Mr. Blender, you really dont have much room for a margin of error considering you just mash on the gas and the tranny does all the work for you. Plus, I stand very strongly behind saying that if this 255 hp RX-7 is basicly bone stock with tires ive noticed to be getting down close to 4/32 tread depth had put as much money into his car as you may have, I believe the competition would change a bit. Given the guy needs to learn his car more, also consider his engine isn't even broke in yet at less than 1,000 miles on his new motor.

You mean to tell me that a little quicker shifting and some new tires is going to make up the 10 car lengths? Quit making excuses....please. At least everyone is being civil.... :wootburnout:

Let's just get this done old school Conway style...We all meet up and fucking rumble...anyone who's got some problems will either step up or get stepped on...who's down?

 Sounds like fun!

Nah, I think everything has settled down a lot now.

No, quicker shifting a good tires WON'T make up for that much. But it will be his "best". I can personally vouche that he doesn't drive his car to it's potential. I have an N/A Z and hang pretty well from an 80 roll in which his car SHOULD have pwned me. He did pull but he didn't even pass me til after 110-120ish.

You left out a minor detail there Blender. i said... new tires, quicker shifting and as much money in mods as you have. Anyway, I'm not trying to start more shit, I just wanted to my little 2 cents in.

if caleb had as much money as you spent on your truck and he used it on his 7 theres no way you could ever touch his car :P

I have a little over a thousand in performace. 85 of that is a DP, 800 is for the port and upgrades seals and internal oil work, 300 for the piggyback.

Mister Blender:
I never said that I lost because of the hose. I guess you mis-understood me. I said I didnt run like I should have because of the hose. Its ok that you do not get what the hose did. By the way its not a vacume hose. The vac. hose was still connected to the valve. The valve was not connected to the slot it was supposed to be. That night I was saying the whole time I hate that this sounds like an excuse. I guess you missed that too. O well its done and over with. If you want to continue to talk shit be my guest. All it does is make you look worse in the eyes of every1 here. I have had nothing negative to say about your truck.

How many 17yr olds(when i did most of the work) can honestly say they have accomplished what I did by doing the work myself? The engine bay to the RX is not simple and neither is the 30 feet or so of vacume hose I replaced.

Was the track open this weekend so I could have driven a couple of hours to run a couple of times? I think I would have acomplished the same thing both places. Learn that I need to work out some things with the car and work on driving skills.

OMG!
I have never seen so many "if he", "would've", "should've's" in my entire life.
Is this really a car forum? or just a bunch of snot nosed kids that can't drive for sh!t with POS rides and not a brain in their friggin' heads?
Get a life people. If you're going to race, learn to do so before you bring it to the line and do NOT make up friggin excuses for yourselves or others.
You lose...you lose. There are NO should've, could've...by the time you get those silly azzed words out of your mouths, you're a "HAS BEEN".
This is the most hilarious sh!t I've read in years ROFLOLOLOLOL

Members: Before the recent overflood of new members, the terms of use for this board was loosely enforced. Reason being, this was a small community with little or no arguing between members. There was no need for administration of users. After having a large outbreak of defametory statements made against members by other NWAi members.. We've decided to tighten the belt. Afterall, this is a public forum, and we're supposed to be a community. We need to become that tight-knit group that once made this forum so great.

Lose the attitude, guys. This isn't what we're about. We don't need to be seen in this light.

So, to cut the tension in here, since the arguments have died down, we've decided to close this topic. Warnings have been issued for parties involved in the thread that supplied more than their fair share of profanity or defamatory statements. For the people who made little or no rude remarks, but still stated their case, you're fine. Do not take any warnings we issued as personal. This is a system that will work only if you all supply your cooperation.

Regards,
NWAi
