no offense to those of you that own a car with an automatic transmission

go straight to the big stuff. do engine 1st, then do exterior(basic stuff though, no f&f) :D

I/H/E, springs, don't waste your money on a VTEC controller. Rims are always a very good touch, but those Preludes look pimp anyways so...

Good choice, now go have some fun!

I wish I could have the money that I couldn't decide what to do with it. I have too many ideas and not enough money to back it...

yea like Terry said, im sorry to break to ya, but there is no such thing as a 1998 prelude si, from 97 and ahead, they have only has the base and SH which is for Special Handlign. As far as what you want to do for mods, start with the basics with Cold Air Intake, Exhaust, and Headers. after that, do a OBD1 conversion, get headwork for more power, vtec controller, pulley system.

This is all that im doing to my 1998 lude. If you have any questions, let me know, also you got any pics of your ride? what color is it?

Have fun moding your lude, its one hell of a car :w00t:

you don't really need to convert to OBDII, yes it has stricter emissions, but it is also a lot of work changing everything over. youd have to buy an OBDI parts car that you know for sure ran (they didn't even make ludes like yours 98 in an OBDI form, which means youd have to figure a lot of shit out from like the non SI model) in your case lude, itd be easier to just keep her OBDII and not deal with that hassle.

yea i keep hearing that the obd2 - obd1 conversion is a bitch to do, so i figured if I do it, its going to be one of the last stages in my moding, right now im just concerned in getting some good headwork done, if you or anyone recomends anyone let me know :2thumbsup:

Congrats! :)

As someone else said, I/H/E. Basically speaking, HP = how fast you can get air in and out. Thats why you start with the basics, intake.. exhaust.. header. After that you move on to more complex manipulations of getting it in and out, or manipulations of things that HELP get it in and out; ie. cams, pulleys..

Good luck! :)

no problem, trust me, this isnt the 1st time its happend on the board, we had a thread go 5 pages long of just arguing bout a 5th gen lude thats and SI

What dealership did you buy your car at???

teamevi
Feb-11th-05, 9:46 am
i live in oswego illinois i bought it at a local honda dealer

best dealer i've been to

the dealer said some young kid sold it to them (the dealer) b/c he needed to buy a family car, but the kid bought it new in 98 and put some si conversions on it

so i guess it's kinda an unofficial si but thanks anyway for settin the record straight

umm no on the spoon (can you say overpriced?) is your car even a vtec car (i don't think the base has vtec, i know the SH does) and turbo, maybe if you actually build the engine. do some RESEARCH on your car man.
