Never buy a Hyundai!

As all of you know, Hyundai's suck. Today me and Cody and Vegas were putting on my new Cold air intake..We try to figure out how to put the intake on, and it takes us about 2 hours to figure out how to put it on. There are way too many wires around my wires And the Battery was in the way. We took out the Battery and Battery Plate and installed the Intake. About 3:45 we got the Intake in. I had to be at work at four. So I started to drive off very happy with my new Intake and what happens? The Damned car dies on me! It just shuts off! and then I turn it back on and the Check oil light comes on. I knew I'd be late for work by then so I called work and told them I'd be late and so we try to figure out why my check oil light comes on every time my car dies. (The intake sounded good in it, too!!!) So Cody does something to the Intake and I take it around the block for a spin and it wants to die on me when My car shifts into 2nd gear and so i drove it around the parking lot and my car dies!!! and so we ended up taking the cold air intake off and putting the Short ram intake back on. and then everything was working just fine...This is Not Vegas's or Cody's fault....It's my fault..I shouldn't of baught a Hyundai. Next time I'll buy a Honda, Acura, Chevy, ford, Nissan, or Toyota...But Not Hyundai..i learned my lesson the hard way. So for all of you People that might buy any type of hyundai in the future, Whatever you do, Don't try to modify it. if you do, Good luck.

Yup, your oil pressure drops to zero when the car dies.

Lots of people have put intakes on those cars with no problems, y'all didn't do something right...

Hyundai's do suck though, can't argue with that :P

Maybe you put your MAF in backwards?

yeah somethings not right there, maybe somthing didn't get hooked back up right, or like you were saying that there were a lot of wires in the way, if you had to squeze it in there you might of pinched a wire or something causing it to ground out and kill the car, i say try it again, and just take your time, make sure that you're not under a time constraint, and look at every little thing to make sure that it doesn't do it again.

:o geez thats a LONG time on a cold air took me like 15 mins on mine and thast just cause I had to pull the huge intake box from the fenderwell sry bout the bad luck

yea, not sure about that year, but it def sounds like a MAF sensor problem to me... Since the computer cant get the intake flow voltage, it relies on a preset map in the computer - which would cause it to idle rough and die after applied load was removed.
