Too many clubs?

Does any one else think that there are just a tad too many clubs...almost like diminishing the value of actually being in one...I mean, it's cool to have a club to meet with likeminded people, but there are like 10 clubs on here now where there used to be like 3...kinda hypocritical of me to post this on 2300 eh... :laugh: Oh well...I digress. Just a thought.

Well there are actual CLUBS of NWA then there are the discussion groups of NWAi/NWAMS..

Like the ladies forum is a discussion group and like Team REV is an actual club of NWA.. So there is a difference and it doesn't seem that bad to me. :dunno:

very good point Kris, I didn't think of it that way...Maybe we could do something to differentiate the discussion groups from the actual clubs like OnTheLoose and Team Rev (2300 is an actual club we just haven't had an official meet yet)

We should start up NWA car and truck club counsel..............Have an organized counsel with President / Vice / etc............this will be the counsel that decides what can and cant happen here in NWA. Every thing will be based on votes ......
In Las Vegas we had a counsel where we had to present our club to the board ..the club would be asked to come to the monthly meetings (kinda like on probation) then the counsel and other clubs would take a vote............if voted in we would pay like monthly due of like $25.00 which would go towards setting up car shows and events .etc.................car clubs are more than just hanging out with friends............we use to do charities , shows , give and take from the community.......all organized......i would be very interested in starting up something.....................this is not a way too make money, tell people what to do , or choose who is better than who......................this is just a way that maybe we can make our lifestyle look better on the community, and provide our selves more too do than just hanging in a parking lot..........................if interested we should hold a meeting....throw out some ideas .........all of us together .....lets make something of what we do and where we live :2thumbsup:

i think it would be a great idea so this way the club r a lil bit more respictive . and it will help keep everyone in check and it was also make it more ligit to open or start a new club and they get the final say so kinda like in the movie . biker boys where if u wanted to start a club they had to go befor all the other leaders of the other clubs and get apprived and such i just think it would work a lot better also could this thread get moved somewhere else so it easyr for everyone else to see and read and get there thought on this matter

for now it would be 2 representatives from each club, and then any other clubs that wanted to start would have to send 2 reps to the counsel and then the counsel would decide on acceptence

or u could make a poll on here and let all the member vote and make it a 1 week time period to vote and send a e-mail to everyone telling them about this and when the voting will start an stop this way all the members that cant drive yet or dont want to go some place jsut to vote would be able to vote and get the voice heard so to speak how does that sound guys

True, but also, let the "higher ups" take into consideration the opinions of the members of their respective teams, so as it's not JUST the opinions of the "higher ups". They know their teams and know who is b/s'n an who's not. I say give the teams a week to decide amongst themselves, once candidates have been chosen, then their 2 reps present the choices to the "hat", and it's chosen from there.

I think that the counsel idea is a great idea for the fact that we can keep everything more organized, paper style you know? By teams having to sort of be "registered" we can keep more coverage on them with the newsletter publications and whatnot. I think it will also keep alot of teams going because there will be more of a public knowledge of them so they will have people wanting to join at all times, otherwise without the public knowledge, the people wouldn't want to join because they wouldn't know they exist. It also sort of spreads more of a unity factor to the whole thing-- banded as one.. Sort of like we did with NWAimports. We try to keep everyone banded together, teams, shops, everyone, independant or team-driven, either way..

I think that as far as President, Vice President, Secretary situation goes. I think that we should hold a meeting at CSE on a particular date, like a Saturday night around 7.. Everyone can voice their opinion on the situation. I think, first of all, that without a doubt Vegas should hold president title. Whether or not I hold VP, thats fine, but I think Vegas should definitely take president, no votes needed. I don't think anyone would object. Regardless of whether or not people like whoever is nominated and given position of certain things, I think that they need to think of the big picture.. Like, "Can this person do the job?" "Are they responsible?" "What have they done for the import community thus far?" ..Think about it in those terms. You don't want someone that yeah, they may be popular and drive a 12 second car.. But they don't do anything for the community or the people around them. Think about this when you nominate. It shouldn't be all popularity, it should be their track record (Not 1/4 either ;) ). True, they need to have some sort of personable personality, otherwise how would you approach them, right? ;)

Otherwise, once we get the counsel all configured and meeting dates/times sat up, we can start planning the major things like the newsletter, yearly calendar, car shows, track rentout days, etc. We just need to find the motivators, and get them appointed and go from there.

I also agree that there need to be 2 appointed leaders from each team. I think teams need to be comprised of at least 5 members.. But these are all standards that will be discussed later I'm sure. NWAImports.com is about to hold an "official teams of NWA" section, so once the counsel gets head and we configure the actual teams, then we can start using the nwaimports.com teams section to sort of "hold" the official standings and whatnot.

..I also agree with the notion that all major decisions to do with the counsel need not to be voted upon on NWAimports.com. There are too many factors when you play with the internet or phone lines. I believe that all major decisions need to be dealt with in a meeting environment at CSE or other appointed place. Smaller decisions and feedback can be taken via NWAimports.com because they are less prominent problems and can be dealt with with less effort anyways.

I love this idea, as far as the newsletter goes, it will be awesome to have that circulating throughout NWA. We can put them in restaurants, stores, car parts stores, and stuff like that. We will need to have a devoted team to put that together. If I have everyones blessing, I would like to have the resposability of putting it together. Im really good with Photoshop and Illustrator and putting this thing together will be easy. We could also use a good photographer, someone with a good digital camera that knows how to take kick ass pictures, we will probably need a reporter to do the stories, reviews and whatnot. If we decide to go through with this, We can have like "member of the month" "ride of the month" "team of the month" and stuff like that. We could have news about our commuinity like meet-ups, car shows, track days and stuff like that. We could also have a tech section with info about products, recomendation and shop reviews. If we can put all of this information into it, i think it will make our community grow as well as become more respected. :thumbup:

definately, Dave would be a good photographer, ive seen his pictures and they are really impressive. I understand completely about not taking it to the heart. One thing everyone should be is proffesional and respectful of their peers and be open to everyones idea. That should be the 1st step before all of this gets done, because if we dont have that, we arent going to get far at all :no:

Anyone that is interested in being a part in it, come up with their own design of a newletter. If they wish to be a photographer, design it around a lot of kick-ass photos. Editor? design it with style and appearance in mind. I hope that makes sense. Just to give any little guys that got great talent a chance to show their stuff. Let the appointed counsel decide based on the entries and kinda mix them together; style, pictures, graphics, overall quality. Also change it up every now and then to get some variety.

i think the moderators and the individual teams should be notified, basically what joe and i were worried about was a bunch of random people coming to the meeting who dont represent teams, i think we need to get it organized and then announce it and invite new teams to come for acceptance after it is established

From the sounds of things, it seems like there will be one big meeting, involving any who want to attend, to discuss HOW the whole thing is going to work. Then from there, there will be the reps chosen, the counsel elected, the newsletter put together, etc, etc....

This is just my understanding of what will be taking place.

I say leave this thread open to the public, period. Don't make it private at all. When something needs discussed privately, a new thread could be made and this one could be used for opinions if people wish. Otherwise it'll just go to the wayside anyways and can be used for reference and history as to how the whole thing came about.

see the only problem with only having the team rep and counsel member is that not everyone will know whats going one and everything and i think it would be good to have anyone that wants to attend the first meeting then from then on out just have it the reps and counsel this way everyone that wants to help out will be there for the first meeting and will know whats goin on and stuff .

Anyways, about having a counsel area, we can do it. Once counsel is chosen and whatnot, we can do either one of two things for the counsel forum. Number one, we can make every member of counsel a different "member group" from normal members and only allow the members of that certain member group access to the counsel forum. Number two, we can just make the forum and make it password protected. The problem with number two is that if the forum password is let out then I'm sure it will spread like wildfire. The con to the first idea with the member group is that I or BDP would have to be informed of ANY team rep changes immediately otherwise certain people will never get to see the messages in the forum..

But yeah, we really need to choose an initial meeting date and get the ball rolling for this. :)

Hey guys im glad everyone is down have a meeting to see if this is going to be worth it.............about unorganization at the meeting if its ok with everyone i will
be the mediator........this does not mean i am going to be president..................i think anyone shall be welcome this first meet..................becuz nothing is set in stone......................when it does get set up ,i like the idea of clubs having 2 spokes people for there club, but i feel all club members shall attend.......so they are part of what goes on too.............but the 2 chosen spokes people are the only ones that should speak for there club............this will give people who are interested in getting in or starting a club achance too see some organization..........................LIKE I SAID WE CAN BE VERY ORGANIZED AS LONG AS EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS IS OPEN MINDED>>>this is chance to create something great..................ill talk at you all later :thumbup:

One good one is to Sticky this thread somehwere more prevelant, i just found this, so it took a while to catch up,lol.
There are a lot of good things happening here and i LIKE it, I like it ALOT!!!
Also, make sure every one gets a PM and an E~mail about the meeting.

Vegas, I guess its kinda up to you to get the details of when and where the meeting is.
