Well...I figured that I'm not going to get them. 1. Because i'd be kicked out of the 4 bangin' club. 2. They arent real carbon fiber. (Thats why I really wanted them. i thought that they were real carbon fiber.) 3. may look too ricey. I dont want to rice out my car too much. (No body kit. No wing. No UnderGlows. ETC.) But I am looking at the 03+ Tiburon Steering wheel...Need one of those to make the interior look better and I'm also looking at some Carbon fiber dashes. I also may be selling my Subs Because they are too heavy for my car. So keep on a look out for those. And Just out of Curiosity...Do you think that a 2005 Colbolt SS S/C would work on my car? After all, We do have the same Engine. (2.0L DOHC 16V)
SmokeyTheBear
Jan-23rd-05, 9:42 am
you don't have the same motor. dude just cuz it is 2.0 DOHC 16v doesn't mean crap. that means you share a motor TYPE, not the same motor. the one in the cobalt is an Ecotec, designed by GM, used in GM cars (saturn ions, cavys, the new cobalt) i think the focus have 2.0 DOHC 16v too, but you do not share the same motor. you have the same motor type, but as for brand, no. do some research before you post up stuff like that. (your car is a hyundai, not a GM product)

Well could I put a Colbolt SS motor into my car? (sorry If I am making myself look stupid :P but could I? I need to really do some researching...I have very little knowledge about cars and Feel like a jackass for that. Sorry.)
Personally, I think your looking to do way too much...Why don't you sell your car and get something better for a base to start and then build your way up...like a Integra GSR or something.

I'm not too big of a fan of older model cars. I like newer (2000 and up) Now If I could find an older model Car that has very little miles on it, Then yeah. i'd buy it. I just want to make my tiburon like no other. Plus, i like to drive cars that Not very many people around here drive. There used to be another Modded 2001 Tiburon but i think that person moved. I like being the only Person on here with a 2001 Tiburon. But thats just me.

red, tech. yes, you could, but the swap is would include soo much custom fab, it isn't even funny. too many parts to mention. also, why would you wanna buy a 21k dollar parts car?? that is a damn expensive parts car. find something basic to work on. hondas are a good start, easy to learn about, and show good improvements on basic mods (I/H/E = intake/header/exhaust) i started out as a hard core honda enthuisiast, did my first engine swap at age 14/15, grew out, went to domestics, grew out, went to nissan, grew out and im in my mazda stage right now. hyundais are an unfortunate breed, i don't think they have a huge aftermarket except for show stuff, no motor swaps available (im getting my motor swap from a JDM MX6, the sister of the probe, shares the same everything as the probe except for the higher compression, meaner, KLZE.) and i haven't really seen too many highly modified hyundais (with the exception of some of the older ones, they are turbo and come from some other car, i can't remember right now) find something more basic, maybe find a project civic hatch, do your research on motors (assuming you wanna do a motor swap) and find out what would be best for you, if you want something torquey, get an h22, if you want a high reving motor, a b16 is great, maybe the best of both worlds, the b18 or LSVTEC. you just have to take the time, if ya don't wanna know cars, you can't just pick it up, you have to read, read, read.

on 2nd thought, don't even toy with an RX7 unless it is a 1st or 2nd gen. you are far too immature to handle a 3rd gen or even a turbo 2nd gen.

I'm not a big Honda fan...I'd rather buy a Domestic rather than buy a Honda..If I did buy a Honda it would have to be an S2k or an Integera. Now Acura..Same Brand almost. I will drive that..Just the RSX though and an Integra.

Jan-23rd-05, 10:43 pm
honda = acura = honda = acura = honda, this could go on forever. start small man, when ya get old, get into hardcore projects like what your talking about. its hard to do major projects at our age, esp. with our finances available (unless mommy and daddy are rich, in my case, hell no)
Mr. Merk
Jan-23rd-05, 11:55 pm
you need something easier to mod, you want to mod but in your case everything is complicated or expensive for your car, sell it and get an older (nice) car like a 94+ teggy or something that still looks newER but is easy to mod

I can only get 7,000 Dollars out of my car..I guess Integra would be nice...how about a 98? But I want a type R
Mr. Merk
Jan-24th-05, 12:29 am
youre not getting it, you dont NEED to have the top of the line car man, 98 Type-R = $10,500 or more
94 GSR = $5000
SmokeyTheBear
Jan-24th-05, 9:33 am
yeah you dont need a type r, they aren't much faster than a GSR. GSRs are the shit, they look good, perform good. stop going for the top of the line BS. do you even know the difference?? no you don't, your going off of word of mouth. you cannot judge a car considering you don't shit about it from the start. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! oh btw, i have a feeling that merks and i posts are pointless, your not gonna listen, your still gonna be a fucktard, and you still won't know wtf a type r is, and youll be stuck with an auto 2.0 tibby until you wreck it and mommy and daddy buy you a new one. im done responding to your threads.

easy pseudo
tibby, you just need to start RESEARCHING, it seems as tho you only go by what you hear is cool
start researching what you think is cool, you hear the words Type-R or V8 and automatically decide that is the shit you need becuase other people are like "oh wow, Typer-R, STi, SS or whatever" too easily swayed, research research research, stop listening to what people say about cars and form your own opinions

there is absolutely NOTHING wrong w/going with the top of the line car. :P if u can make it happen, make it happen.. and if his parents are fortunate enough to be able to buy him a new car, then good for him. my parents bought me my first car and i went from there. do what u want and work hard to get it, just be smart about it ;)

Ok, the whole Mommy and Daddy stuff is annoying. My parents bought me my car. And STiGuy's parents have bought him a 1997 Integra Type R and now an STi and Ryan has a 1993 RX-7 R1. Its not a big deal if your parents buy you a nice car...
But I've driven a Type R and a GSR and they feel pretty much the same, but I would definatley say the Type R is one of my favorite cars...

you guys are a complete exception, you guys are actually cool. i haven't talked to james or ryan or you john, but you don't go rubbing it in that you have a new car. that is what i meant, my mom and dad would buy me something new if we had the cash, we just don't. im not meaning to dis ya man, promise, you seem hella cool and id like to talk to you, james, and ryan sometime about your cars (all 3 of which i love lol) sorry, i hope you guys really don't take offense to that, or anyone else who had their parents buy their cars (my parents have bought mine, but mine was only 1700 lol) <-- Pseudo, sorry, my cousin and i share the same comp lol.

the GSR is an awesome car, i know, i got one. it's pretty similar to the type-r and i like to call it the prototype to the R  but yea, the type-r really isn't that much faster than the gsr on the 1/4, but it owns the gsr on the track. i say if you're not gonna use the R for what it was made for, don't get it. lol. the main differences in the hood is, pistons which yeild a higher compression ratio of 11.0:1, the head is mildly ported, cams are more agressive, better valve springs to handle the higher red line of 8.5k!!!...shorter gear ratios, lsd, 4-1 header, better suspension...i'm sure there's more, but i'm not expert, so don't flame me if i get some info wrong, just politely correct me
btw: stock the 00' type-r runs 15.1 and the 94' gsr runs 15.4. not that much faster if you ask me. oh and i'm sure i don't need to mention this as you may already know, but the type-r has 20 more hp than the gsr at 170bhp.
SmokeyTheBear
Jan-24th-05, 9:29 pm
thank you, the GSRs are hella sweet. imo, they are one of the best cars to mod, be it beginner or pro. i <3 b18s in general.

i know a lot of cool kids that their parents buy them nice cars, but they are cool, modest, take good care of it and treat it like it wasnt replaceable and NEVER look down on other "lesser" cars/owners
but then there is the average joe who's parents buy them a top of the line car just cuz they want it cuz its the cool thing right now and drives around town thinking they are the biggest shit and if something goes wrong their parents will fix it
