Window Tinting Laws

Have you ever wondered why tinting the driver's and front passenger side windows is illegal in some states? It usually comes down to a law enforcement safety issue. In many states, tinting these windows--or applying dark tint to them--is illegal, because if you get pulled over, the police want to be able to see into your vehicle. Quite simply, they want to know if you're pulling a gun on them--or trying to hide drugs or alcohol.

Haha, I don't think cops are pricks about it too much though. My G/F's car is 5%, but "She bought it that way."

I had a friend that was pulled over and the officer said his windows were tinted too much. The officer then searched his car for weed and alcohol. Springdale cops suck most of the time.

Where do you guys get your windows tinted illegally??? I heard Ameritint or somethin like that does it but they will make you pay in cash and they wont give you a reciept for it....any other places?

i got a friend that lives in fort smith and he said that california customs down there will tint your windows 5% and will also give you a lifetime warenty on it so that for any reason down the line you have to take it off (i.e from orders by a cop) or whatever you take your receipt back with you and they will reinstall it for free :D

I got my whole windshield tinted plus a brow on my Tiburon. All you have to do is get a doctors note. Go to tri-state optical in Rogers for an exam and ask for it when your done. Rogers would stop me all the time, sometimes literally a few minutes apart. One time they wrote me a ticket anyways and i filed stalking charges against them. I agreed to drop them in exchange for a letter from the prosecuting attorneys office stating not to issues me citations.

i got a guy right over in bentonville that hooked mah venger up with 5% tint ...then he threw in an 11 inch eyebrow for free the other tint cost me like 150 bucks...and the reason for the no recipt thing is so that you cant get the guy into trouble with the law....if ya want the doods digits gimmie a shout and i'll hook ya up...the doods name is danny and he does kick ass work :shiftingfun:

in tulsa, you arent supposed to be any darker than 20-35% that dont mean shit. peeps roll all day with less than that. ive had 5% on all my cars, have been pulled over and not a word about it. just roll your window and everything should be cool. :thumbup:

There is a place on College that will do 5%. The cops would have fun if one of them got on this board; talking about this and Caleb advertising for a race :).

I have my windows on the fbody at 5% all the way around including the brow/visor across the front windshield.

I have actually been busted once for the tint job .... by a rookie Rogers Cop. After 3 trips to see the prosecuting attorney -- I got it dismissed and didnt have to take the tint job off .... He had no reason to pull me over either. It was in the middle of the day on 71B. He pulled me over told me that "HE" felt my windows were too dark. Then he busted out the "tint % reader" thing -- stuck that on my windows. Then tried to get out of me where I got my windows done so dark at. Like I am going to tell him!

i've never understood tinting windows, it doesnt make any sense to me....but that's just me, maybe it's one of those things that i will never understand...

Bouchards just tinted mine. I've never seen anyone better, and only 120.00. I used to have them do mine back in 95 and up, then lost contact. Thanks to Mali i found them again. Their no. is 544-4884.

Im lookin to get mine all 5% but Im not sure where to do it...also I will prolly get my sunroof like 0% or somethin.. I dont even want the damn thing on there but if its gotta be on there for now I might as well get it the least visible as possible.

off subject: does anybody know how to black out the tail light lens and head light lenses??? I know I have to have transparent paint and I know where I can get some..but It says somethin about baking the lights??!?!?!??! Let me know...thanks.

Window tinting helps keep heat out of the car during the summer amongst other things. Trust me, if you've got stock glass right now, and you drive around in 90 degree weather when it is sunny out.. Then tint the windows to 32% (legal) and drive around, you'll notice a big difference in your overall temperature inside the car. It's not just an accessory for visual affect..

"Step-Up" truck accessories on the way to Centerton will do a four-door all the way around for $150. Brow is +$15. They can also do vinyl eyelids & pin striping for an additional fee. :thumbup:

(They do all tint, from way above legal to 5%, whatever you want. :thumbup: )
