well, I was headed to Centerville this past Saturday with some friends when as I'm going through Conway, I hear this strange sound coming from my underbody. I think at first it's a piece of tire or something but the sound does nothing but increase, so, I pulled over just to make sure everything was good to go and much to my suprise I open my hood to find my underhood mat torn all up, as well as my main two belts absolutely obliterated. they wrapped themselves around all kinds of things in my engine bay...and one even made it's way down to my brake rotor and wrapped itself around that. so, I called Onstar and got a tow truck en-route, sent one of my friends back to get the belts and had the tow truck tow me to the next exit, I thought that would be a bit better than working on my car at the side of the freeway. We get the belts on no problem but we notice that the idler pulley is gone so, we make another trip to the auto parts store just before they close, get the pulley, and get back on the road. I'm just glad my belts are easy to replace. I'm stoked that I got to make it to the track that night too. ended up running a personal best of 11.40 @ 92 MPH. That'll finish me out for the season. a BIG thanks to SirMichael for helping me out with this.
