View Full Version : Super Chips

A while back I e-mailed Superchips because they are able to burn custom chips for your vehicle.. Well.. not mine.. They say they don't do Mazda trucks because of all the differences between the Mazda and Ranger.. I further explained that it's a Mazda but the same base & mostly the same truck as a Ford Ranger Edge, I also provided them ith my computer numbers and how it has the same PCM as a Ranger Edge with a 3.0.. Just a few different body panels & wheels is the only difference.. It was kind of a nasty e-mail because I was pissed of @ the stupidity.. They replied again.. "We Don't suport Imports thank you for your interest".. So a lil while ago I called Super Chips and spoke with a really Imformative rude guy who told me... "we don't support Imports".. So I asked.. can you burn me a chip setup for an '01 Ranger Edge with the 3.0? he said yes that is possable.. and I said thats the same truck as mine, why don't you support it?.. and he said once again "we don't support Mazda pickups, sorry" & hung up
So Super Chips gets a BIG :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: in my book
On the other hand.. Diablosport Chip's F-ing rocks.. & they know what they're talking about.. more than helpful!! They are reccomended!!!

Diablo-Sport said they could only get me 3-5hp, TOPS, for ~$300. Maybe it's just my engine... :dunno:

see the point is that they were too ignorent to accept the fact that the Mazda is a Ford.. also they need the Vin# to burn the chip so the PCM & Vin #'s match in the computer.. my Vin # is a Mazda Vin.. but that should not have an effect on how the chip works.. just program it so the PCM & Vin #'s match.. they're problem seemed to be toward Imports in general with the tone in the guys voice

So they don't like imports. The world can be fickle that way.

I got a superchips custom tune, 4 bank chip with up to 4 different tunes on it. I think they are AWESOME!!! The chip is the best one on the market for the domestic croud. Diablo f'n sucks, horrible chips. With one of the supertune chips you can have a car tuned, if something needs to be changed, have your tuner change the tune, send it to you over email, and send it to your chip and go back and forth that way. Also guys, if your turbo'd/supercharged, dont get a mail order chip, it could cost you thousands. Some people have found that out the hard way, your a/f ratio has to be perfect. Best way is to get a dynotune.
