How many import nights are there during the race season at salisaw, mo-kan, centerville, ect?

I'm not completely sure, although when race season starts you can probably check out their sites and they would have a good listing (or good idea) as to how many they will be having in 2004.
Ah, 2004 is going to be a very exciting year for us. I do hope you'll stick around Caleb. :)

Guys, you really need to drop those broke ass tracks like mokan and centerville, and start going to Tulsa w/ me.

I heard Tulsa's import nights were always packed.
Next time you're headed that way, let me know a couple weeks in advance. I'll see if I can head that way with you. I've been wanting to run that track, but I like to have a pack to run with.
BTW : In case anyone WAS wondering, it is equal, if not somewhat shorter, of a distance between NWA and Tulsa, as it is between NWA and MOKAN.
What does Tulsa offer?? I heard that their main thing was the Midnight Runs (Saturday, I think) from like 11pm to 4am including one "hour of power". What else do they have??
If that's it, the biggest problem is that nobody wants to be rolling back to NWA at 4am.
It'd be tight if we could get a few hotel rooms (depending on how many people came) and crash (party...you say potatoe...) afterwards.

BTW ::
Mo-Kan hasn't posted their summer schedules yet..
I think last year, the Import Nights were in April (middle-ish), June (14th - I missed because of my sister's wedding), August (I missed because my CL was in the body shop...stupid old people), and September (??th...the one time I got to go and I can't remember).

do you guys do anything else other than drag strips? There is a circuit i go to for racing about 30 min. west of tulsa. it is a 10 corner track with 3 straightaways. i dunno. im not dissing drag strips, but they just seem boring to me.

I've been wanting to do some autocross type stuff. Thats what my car is built for. I'd definitely be interested in that.

Why don't you spend your money on a new suspension instead of buying every kind of intake you could possible bolt on your truck?
Haha, just kidding. I'll bet you if put those GT Wheels back on your truck it will handle better and get some NEW tires. They help. I promise! :D

i race at a track called Hallet Motor Racing Circuit. Its pretty awesome. there are tons of different cars there, and i have only seen one truck there (Ford Lightning). if you like miatas, you'll eventually get sick of them. :puke: every 2 of 5 cars at the track are miatas. i race a camaro ls1 there. its a badass track.

Nahh, Patrick always borrows my intake :). My car is civic hatchback with 90-93 Integra suspension, rear discs, Si front and rear sway bars, CRX springs (coil-overs soon), and also soon to be are some adjustable shocks, not sure which ones to get. Thats pretty much all of my suspension mods besides the strut bar, and soon to have one on the rear. Because of the Integra suspension on CRX springs, its lowered about 3 inches.
Its not the best car in the world, and I'm looking at an 89 CRX to put all of that stuff on, so it would be a lot more balanced than my grocery getter :).

I would LOVE to get on a street track....SCCA, here I come...just playin', by the way.
No, for real though, I'd love to hit up that track.
Give me some details on location, events, cost.
BDP, maybe with the right info, you could add that to the "Tracks" link on homepage.

i know they do! on my pony rims i've got 245/55 falkens, i've added a 4x4 rear sway bar and u know i already doubled the rear leafs, i'm getting new shocks and lowering it prob another 2" all around (already did the back 2") new years eve i was on a lancer's ass (not an evo....before someone says anything) on the road from greenland to prarie grove (great for you drifter guys) it was my first time on that road and the other guy lives on it! not too bad for a ford ranger longbed!
as far as intakes go, i've got one more up my sleeve cuz i am gettin a merkur scorpio upper intake with dual TBs,i will runs dual K&Ns as well

www.tulsainternationalraceway.com is the website, although it might be changing soon. It was bought out recently, and they are building a road track, as well as making the first half of the track concrete(better traction).

Kick ass.
Hey, Mali, Gayle got this coupon book good for 2 nights stay at a number of hotels...if Tulsa is one of them, I might make an entire racing weekend out of it and hit up TIR one night, and, if schedules allow, the hallet street track the next day, or something like that.
If you, OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER, is interested in hooking up for that (you'd probably have to pull your own room, or place to stay), let me know.
I still wanna get a decent pack together to roll to TIR.
If I run good enought on both tracks, I might retire the CL off of them...it's not a damn race car, ya know...it's gotta last.
I just have ONE MORE monster run to make, then it's done.
Anyways..let me know.

Ok, shit....
I just checked out hallettracing.com...I looked at the schedule and I don't find SHIT about import days/nights, import runs, street setup runs, etc, or anything else that doesn't cost near A GRAND to get the track.
:(
Now, I knew street tracks and such are usually a good amount of money to reserve, but I thought that, when you suggested the track, you had in mind some time that we, as street racers, would get an opportunity, for a few hours or what not, at a small price ($20/$30) would get a chance to hit the track.
The way I see it, we would need about 40 people, pitching in $20.00 apeice to reach the bare minimum to reserve the track for any amount of time.
What's up, dude...is there something I'm not catching???
BDP, what can we do about communicating with the track owners and seeing if something could get set up....if you want me to, I'll holla at them and see what's up..you pretty much run NWAImports.com so you probably have better tactics in dealing with them, but I see a shitload of dates open for discussion.

im not talking about renting the track. yes that costs alot. and i wasnt implying that we have a meet there, either. i'm just saying this to the people that have spare time to go there and see what your car can do. did you see the thing that said high speed touring? that was what i meant. and pretty much every race event is an import meet. plus there are alot of other events. i mean if you dont like the track thats cool, no problem, i just thought i would share it with you guys because that is what i do at the track and i have fun doing it. sorry for any inconvenience.

Oh...
No, no, no...don't get me wrong...I'm not bitching AT ALL about you talking about the track...I think it's bad ass that there is a street course within a decent drive from here....
I just misunderstood, thinking that you hadn't researched the pre-emptives to it....I jumped to the conclusion...no harm, no foul.
I think it would be awesome to see some NWAImporters out there, doing there things with the tourers/super-tourers (is that right???)...
But I was serious about checking into it....I know that it would probably be costly, but maybe they could do some pro-bono/community work and get a day for street cars to come in and put it down, just for the hell of it, for a small price.
Again, BDP, you wanna check into that????
And, BTW, I love the track...I think it's set up is tight...Ferrari has a 10 corner track, I don't see why we can't (I counted 10 corners, but I'm somewhat inebriated). Don't feel like you inconvenienced anyone... I think there are PLENTY of us out there that the drag strip, be it 1000mtr or 1/4mi, has grown somewhat tiresome, and are looking for something a little more.
I hope I didn't come off wrong..no disrespect intended....
God, I'm freakin' lovey on rum!!!

By the way :
What do you mean "that is what i do at the track" and "every race event is an import meet."
If this is something street cars can get in on, let me know, bro...I'll be there (hopefully, considering that it coincides with a TIR meet of somekind.)
Again, I hope I didn't come off mean or anything.

By the way ::::
I just researched further and, for a Saturday or Sunday reservation ( which I assume either day would be most convenient for everyone ), the cost is 2250.00 for the first 5 cars, and addt'l 100.00 per car after, which, by my drunken calculations (I hope you guys don't think I'm an alcoholic), means that, for a total of, let's say 50 cars ( which may even be unheard of, even between NWAImports.com ), would be a total of 6750.00, which would amount to 135.00 apeice which, I'm assuming, is for the entire length of the day, which may be somewhat reasonable, but, I don't imagine we can get 50 people with that much, and, just for figures' sake, if we had 25 people/cars, it would cost 212.50 apeice, so the more the merrier, obviously.
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, because, Lord knows, I was VERY hyped about the idea when it was brought up, but, unless BDP can work something GOOD out with them, I don't see it happen.
Again, civicuser, do you get a chance to run there??? When??? What does it cost individually the times you go???
I'm seriously pretty freakin' interested.

i run my ls1 at the track in the COMMA events(competition motorsports association) and i must say this is the most fun i ever had in my life. i dont run with the high speed touring, but i know people who do. HST is where you take your streetcar out there and run with other street cars. unfortunately, you can opnly pass in the straightaways, but if you are faster and corner right on his/her ass, you shouldnt have any problem. my camaro has a roll cage, and you MUST have a roll cage for the COMMA, because there are some pretty tuff challengers out there, im not saying im the greatest driver, but then again, neither are some other people on the track. if you want to make a car for comma, then start out on HST to get to know the track more. that is the best way to learn the track. and yes, the track is very technical. (Difficulty: scale 1-10 w/10 being hardest, i would give it a 7 or 8) oh yeah im sorry if i misunderstood also.

on the site there is a schedule. whenever it says COMMA/HST/Legends or something, that is when i go out. that is also high speed touring. they go back and fourth all day taking turns on the track.(the diffrent series's) its been a while since ive raced there, but i think the cost is like 35 or 70 bucks. not sure which. but its definitely worth it

Jan-7th-04, 10:32 pm
well, the races take turns going on the track. first, it would be comma practice for about 6-7 laps (20 min or so), then legends cars for the same pratice, then HST, and then it repeats again. (COMMA, Leg.,HST, practice again.) there are about three practices for COMMA and legends cars, then the pre qualifying, then qualifying, then the actual race. high speed touring doesnt really practice, instead they just race around before the comma races/practices. in hst there arent any winners. sorry no prizes, just pride. but you do get your lap times. HST is very fun, even though you cant pass in the corners. there are tons of street cars from civics to rx7s, 240s, couple f-bodies, 350zs, etc., all modified cars. yes the black rx7 is the fastest. I think HST is $30 and comma is $75.

Civicuser- I'm trying to remember a black Camero, but I'm drawing a blank. There was a camero painted like a police car out there, but I didn't remember it being in PS. A V8 sure shouldn't be in PS... Gt2 is more appropriate. What's your name? Did you race this year?
And to clear up some info- High Speed Touring costs $75. Include $10 to get in the track, and about $15 in gas you'll burn on the track and it's about $100 for the day, not including food or other travel costs. Is it worth it? Yes. You will end up with over an hour of track time. Believe me, that is a lot.
COMMA is Hallett's exclusive race series, and you have to have a "race car" with a roll cage and the works. It's actually only $10 more to do a COMMA race, but of course you have a slight bit more expenses on the car as all road racing is not by any means cheap. lol ;)
Check out http://www.hallettracing.com/schedule.html and come out to any weekend where it shows COMMA/High Speed Touring and just hang out. You can watch the races and talk with people in the Paddocks. Any street car is welcome in High Speed Touring, but if you're planning on driving hard, I'd advise some good brake pads and fluid. Aside from that, just bring a helmet and have fun.
Oh- and yeah, watch for the hatch with the orange wheels. (Alex/Humble) Nothing like seeing a Civic keeping up with 400hp GT1 cars. Before half the spectators and track people realized it had what is probably a 225hp H22 in it, everyone was quite confused with "the little Civic that could..." heh
