Meet @ Payless In Rogers at 10pm
Roll Out at 10:30pm
Take a cruise down Dickson street
Then off to Sonic in Fayetteville

Let’s all try to make it out to this event to make it HUGE! A crew from SouthWest Missouri Imports will be joining us in our Saturday Night Cruise-Thru to make this a family-sized affair. Let’s all make the Missouri crew feel welcomed and make it out to show them how NorthWest Arkansas does it.

Saturday November 20th, 2004… We will be doing the “Saturday Night Cruise Thru” for NWAi/NWAMS. We meet @ 10pm, roll out at 10:30pm from the Payless Parking Lot at the Rogers Mall. If you’re unsure of this location, send us an e-mail NWAImports@yahoo.com and we’ll be sure to get some instructions out to you.
We will be heading from Payless in Rogers to 71B, cruising to Fayetteville, then cruising down DICKSON street to show off the allure of the rides of NWA... After Dickson we will be turning around and going up to Sonic.
If it rains, the cruise-thru will be cancelled!

speaking of the cruise and not a race..
i thought that was the entir e meaning of the two leaders one for each lane so the leaders can and will control the speed and keep it to a norm..
i liked the idea so much that by the end of the cruise i did not have to
detach my butt cheeks from jugs seat..

I just want to say thanks for all of the SWMi that showed up, made the cruise much bigger and fun too. Lets just not let this time be the last SWMi comes out. The whole cruise was a big tournout, i counted close to 50 cars :yikes: and when i looked in rear view mirror the scene was insane so many imports (and domestics) lined up like that, it was insane. Lets try to make much more cruises like these in the future, it was fun as hell :2thumbsup:. Maybe next time it wont be as cold and we can stay out longer too

Actually, the DelSol was being pretty well behaved, he didnt tail gate or cut people off, he was staying a good distance from people, though he did need to cool his jets a little.

dude, stay up there with the car ahead of you and speed up when the group does.
Everyone else cruising seemed to have the hang of it.
Otherwise, you are just slowing your lane down and causing everyone else to slam on their brakes.
I didn't see anyone else brake checking people like you either . . .

GTP, you were tailgatin me at first too, and frankly, it was pissin me off pretty bad, not mention watch you cuttin everyone else off in front of me. I know I'm in nothin but a lowly little Escort, but a a cruise is just that, a CRUISE, but to cruise together as friends. And we shouldn't have to ride the ass of the person in front of us for fear that we'll get cut-off.
The del-sol guy was gettin to me a bit, seein as I was right behind him, couldn't tell when the line was actually goin, or he was just just jettin it for a second.....all the speed-then-brake was really irk'n me.
I'll be at most of the cruises, with my bone stock Escort (with the exception of a Pringles can CAI), expecting a CRUISE. I hope to see as many, if not more, people and cars that we did yesterday. It was a really fun cruise, and I'm hopin to bring my fiancee out again, if I can get her out again. She really didn't get a good first impression due to the previously mention incidents. A team is only as strong as it weakest player, and in her eyes, that demonstrated the strength of the group, and really embarassed me, cause I ALWAYS talk highly of EVERYONE, to family, friends, and co-workers.
Hope to see you all at the next cruise. Take care.

The only reason I followed you guys that closely was because you were barely keeping up with the car in front of you.. Therefore, creating a gap in the line of the cars and a lane that is slower than the other. It was frustrating as hell seeing everyone accelerate pretty fast at a stop light and you sit there like you didn't even see the light change.. When the group speeds up, the cars behind them anticipate that and start to speed up, and when you don't, we have to slam on our brakes behind you.
As long as you keep up with everyone else (not necessairly tailgate) and accelerate (or at least attempt) when everyone else does, you won't have people tail gating you and slamming on their brakes right up on your ass.
It's one thing to keep a safe following distance, and another thing to drive 5 car lengths behind the next car.
Jet-Lee
Same as you, a "certain green car" made it pretty difficult to follow behind there. Since he kept slamming on his brakes and then speeding up, I never knew if you were speeding up or slowing down. So instead of having to slam on my brakes like everyone else every 20 seconds and hear his loud exhaust, I moved on over to another lane.. I don't even think I was behind you but more than a few minutes if even..
If either of you or anyone else for that matter would like to continue this conversation, I will be more than glad to on any of my instant messenger names, or via private message. You 2 weren't the only ones getting pissed off here..

Same with mine, not always the best choice to bring them along... However, it's nice to have them at Sonic once the cruise is over.
Since we have a big group of people driving trying to keep up with everyone else and make the stop lights, let's all try to keep up with the car in front of us so we don't get seperated. Just keep it somewhat safe people.. B)
Don Juan
Nov-22nd-04, 9:24 am
what the biggest problem we have is that a lot of people like to slow down to make gaps between the people ahead of them then "race" and try to catch up, causing a lot of people to be left behind wich causes us to get seperated. Not to forget that by doing that you also put in danger everyone else. It only takes one bad mistake to cause a 20-car wreck. I know a lot you guys have invested a lot of money into your rides and the last thing you want is to have your car wrecked. Its good to play arround and have fun, but when your tailgatting and doing stuff to seperate the group up, its just uncalled for. Having fun and being ignorant during the cruise is completely different, there are many more ways to have fun other than being stupid and putting other people at risk.
John02Hawk
Nov-22nd-04, 9:27 am
The only reason people tail gate eachother is because the car in front of them isn't keeping up with everyone else. No one wants to get stuck at a stop light either..
Most of the time it's not tail gating on purpose, it's tail gating because we have to slam on our brakes at the last second because the person in front of us either isn't keeping up with the flow of the group and the next car cannot easily anticipate what the driver in front of them is going to do, or like LUDE said, they decide to leave a huge gap for whatever reason..
Don Juan
Nov-22nd-04, 9:33 am
I say next time with have a cruise have a meeting before we leave and discuss everything that is being discussed here, that way we can answer any questins or concers and help prevent mistakes like these happening again. Just remember that we have a lot of new people coming out to our cruise and they see this and never come back, if we want our community to keep growing, we need to act right and not scare any newbies away.
Jet-Lee
Nov-22nd-04, 9:36 am
I'm not jumpin down anyone's throat in this post, just aiding the conversation.
That "hang back then catch up" is annoying as hell. Can't tell whether they're screwin off or the line is actually movin. I got hung back a couple times cause I thought they were just screwin off again. IMO, if you wanna do that, get in the back, but preferably, don't do it at all.
As far as distance, I think 1 - 1 1/2 car lengths is a good cruising distance, if no one is screwin off. Not enough room for an everyday driver to risk squeezin in, but not so close to piss each other off.
*EDIT* - This was meant to be before Lude's post above.
*In response to 98Lude* - I agree with Lude. Have like a BIG huddle, and make clear things that wont be tolerated. Even if it has to be repeated at every single cruise, it will show that it's not accepted, as well as letting newbies know.
I'm a newbie to the cruises, I simply know how to act by reading posts like these, afterwards.

I was beside the celica when he passed him and personally i don't think it was a big deal. the celica was about 6 or 7 cars behind the one in front of him and when i was behind him it pissed me off too. The GTP gave him plenty of hints that he needed to move up and he didn't so he picked a safe time to pass and did it. Might i add that was a pretty bad ass pass too.
Jet-Lee
Nov-22nd-04, 1:54 pm
Sorry man, but I was either 1 car behind or in front of the Celica at all times, if not right beside him, and he was never more than a few car lengths distance, let alone 6 or 7, but that's beside the point. With a group that big, you ARE GOING TO get seperated, no matter how hard you try not to. This subjects already been beaten to death, let's leave the dead horse alone an quit kickin it... <_<

Nov-22nd-04, 4:54 pm
Okay, next cruise we're going to have a big talk before we leave.. At 10:30, when we should be rolling out we'll gather a big group and have a discussion beforehand.. This way any questions will be answered and we will let you all know what we expect out of you. This isn't a road course, math class or anything of the sort. I just feel like we all need to speak up and let each other know what is expected.. What is tolerated, what is not.
So if anyone will have any questions then, be sure to speak up. If you see a group forming, please join in the discussion. This involves EVERYONE; new members, veteran members as well as guests...
The cruises are fun, but they are getting big enough now that a few guidelines need to be made so that it can stay safe.
