TWIMC,
I have recently had a bad experience with a member of the board giving out information to several parties on what I drive. My past experiences with this have resulted in over 2800 dollars worth of damage to my vehicle. Therefore after not being able to trust the integrity of some of the members of this board I feel it a need to drop off the board. So as of today I will most likely be inactive and pop in from time to time. I now see it as a constant effort to protect my investment in my vehicle. Furthermore I would like to say to other members be cautious about who you let know what you drive because it may be worth more than having cool pictures of your car or cool signatures.. so please use caution..
Take Care...
Chris

Chris,
Though this may have happened between yourself & another member of this board. No information was passed through this board. Whether through posts, emails sent through this board, or private messages through this board.
We have checked information thoroughly between PM's & Emails sent, and no information about yourself or your vehicle turned up.
So, this is an act of vandalism not a result of this board. There is nothing that really I, or the other admins can do to help at this time.
But, if you have any information about the alleged member, please email us so that we may check the situation more thoroughly.
As I said, there are no recorded events from our records on this forum. Any situations arising from giving out personal information such as Name, Address, Phone Number, VINS, is not our responsibility and we strongly urge everyone not to give our personal information on this board or through any other medium connected to the internet.
We're sorry to lose you. Godspeed to you.

U might have mis understood me my vehicle was vandalized in the past.. and I'm just taking precautions to make sure it does not happen again. Basically I was approached by some people and they asked what I drove because a member had told them about me. Therefore I am just taking precautions to protect my investment. Who Knows I may stick arround but as far as keeping up to date with stuff I most likely will be dropping off all together..

I can understand you taking precautions such as you're doing. But maybe the first precaution should be blocking out your plate numbers on the photo in your signature.. Or taking out the photo altogether. Vandalization happens in parking lots, at homes, everywhere. It's not just a result of being on an import car forum. If people don't have enough respect for your car to not do something as they did, then they will get theirs. Karma is a b&%$.
But, as I've said, you're welcomed back at any time, with open arms. We don't want to lose a member over something like this. Good luck with your decision.
And remember to keep that 479 Vibe alive. :nwai:

Sorry to see ya go Chris ....
I have to agree with Triepsyn (sorry not sure on the name) -- maybe you do need to block out the plates on your car in pictures before you post them all over the internet -- as well as you name. I also know that from the word of mouth of friends that have seen ya out .... there is a time and a place to brag about what you car runs or what is done to it -- it isnt to a total stranger - specially when you are new to the area. I am not trying to be rude or mean or what not but trying to give some helpful hints.
I am sorry to hear about the past deal with vandalism -- that sucks in general.
I have learned in this area -- there is a good racing scene and a bad racing scene .... it takes time to figure it out and figure out who your real friends are before opening you mouth on what is and what isnt done to your car. To be honest -- I refuse to tell anything about my car until I get to know someone -- even though it is stock. Even though half of Fayetteville knows my car is stock -- I still get the question after a race or before a race is offered to me - if I dont know the person or the group asking I dont tell .... just something I have learned, but then again half the time I dont even get the chance to talk about my car cus I have 3 or 4 other people offering my car in a race .... let me tell ya it sucks!
If ya come back -- as a new member that I am -- I certainly will welcome you back!
