man, I don't know any girl that would rather have a Z28 than a Saleen... Maybe one lol, but she doesn't count because she owns a Camaro. If you rolled on Dickson in a Saleen, you'd turn a lot more heads than you would in a Z28. Now, a Z28 with rims and a high-lifting cam sound that would make me pee my pants.... well thats a different story :).
Cool car man. I know I'm thinking of someone else, but have you ever raced anyone in a gold Oldsmobile Alero??

some saleens are v6s. i don't even wanna get in the convo about why GM is better than ford. (lets see, the 390 hp the cobra makes with a supercharger vs the 405 hp that a Z06 makes what was that, oh yeah naturaly aspirated. yes i know the price difference but you can take an LS1 and make it an LS6 with the right heads, pistons, crank, etc...)

so i was at this party and we was talkin about cars and this guy had a V6 mustang and i had the camaro. Then this girl goes "ooooooh I love mustangs!!" then she asked me what I had and I said "a 94 camaro" and she goes "whats a camaro?". For the first time I was totally speechless, I had no idea what to say...

Not too up and up on Fords, but I know a little bit about Saleens... I've never seen a V6 Saleen. At least not a V6 Saleen mustang. That would suck. Have any pics??

There are no V6 Saleen mustangs in production. They are all "S281's" or Just "281's", you may be thinking of the Roush mustangs. They have a V6 roush.... A lot of people are immating the Saleens by buying the body kits.

There are actually 3 types of Saleen Mustangs. S281, Supercharged S281 and S281-E
The S281 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter (281 cid) SOHC V8, the S281 crank out a healthy 290 bhp at 5,100 rpm and 330 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm
The S281 Supercharged features a series IV twin-screw intercooled supercharger that boosts performance up to 375 bhp at 5,800 rpm and 415 lb-ft of torque at 3,500. It has a 0-60 time of 4.7 sec, with the quarter mile @ 13 sec flat at about 108 mph.
The S281-E is powered by a a new breed of Saleen technology (so to speak). The "E" engine, features a Series V twin-screw intercooled supercharger which produces 445 bhp at 6,000, with maximum torque of 450 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm.
So in essence there is just a "S281" but just different types. But again there are only V8 Saleen's.

Personally I waxed a saleen while driving a 01 SS. The saleen had aftermarket pipes and a few stickers on the side, the ss was stock. :wootburnout:

If the s281 isn't supercharged, then what does the S stand for?? ;)
I only know the previous body style, 94-98 I think. They had the S281 and S351, both supercharged. I hope Ford isn't being gay about making a NA Saleen....
An SS and a Saleen are pretty fairly matched. Maybe it was a bad driver in the Saleen??

You would really be confused after you got spanked in a race by one.

The sound, its all about the sound.. Mimicking a V8 with a V6 is worthless. If you want the notoriety of the V8, ditch the V6 and the bodykit you bought with it and just go with the V8.
