im thinking of buying a 2000 cougar or keeping my crx. it started shooting water near the back of the motor so i was thinking of buying a cougar but i feel like a sell out cause of course i would do it up. I would buy another engine for the crx cause its a 1.5. just want some input.

Have you ever owned a new car before?
If you can wing the payments, go for it. If you at all doubt that you will be able to make the payments, don't do it. You don't want to be upside down in payments..

here is the dilema i faced, spend 24 grand on a brand new sweet ass car, or spend a shitload of money on something a lot cheaper and make it WAY MORE UNIQUE, think about that for a bit
i think you know what i did :sly:
i found the cougar for 7500 not bad for a 2000 its on autotrader.com i would have to go down to texas to get it. its yellow and it looks badass. How hard would it be to put a 1.6l dohc vtec zc motor in my crx? im bidding on ebay for it. i think if im right that it is a straight replacement. tell me if im wrong. I dont know if i want to go that way or not. i just really need a reliable car to get to college in rogers.

the new cougars are supposed to be POS's. if you like the way they look or their handling, look for a probe or mx6. it's almost the same thing but a hell of a lot better.

call vegas about the engine swaps
btw there isnt a DOHC vtec ZC.......ZC being the key word, ZC is non vetec, there is a SOHC vtec "ZC" (D16 from an EX)
i think you can get either swap for about $2k

The Probe has stiffer handling, more sports-based..
The MX-6 has shorter gears, weighs 300 lbs less, but is more luxury-based...
Generally, MX-6's are more expensive. There is more of an aftermarket for the Probe.
Coming to the Probe side are we..

Keep the CRX.. My brother in law knows a shit load about those cars. He was modifying one not to long ago but then his funds ran out. I'd keep the crx, Those cars can be so fast its unreal.

Keep the CRX, I can piece you together a motor for cheap and put it in in just a matter of a few hours if you need something to get you by. Trust me, no payment and cheap liability insurance beats the hell out of a payment for 2-5 years and higher insurance. Keep the CRX and invest your money into making it fly brother, I'm here to help you as much as you need me.
