On my 94 camaro my power steering pump pulley shakes a lil and makes a crapload of noise. I've come to the conclusion the shaft is slightly bent, anyone know if I can just replace the pulley or do I have to get a whole new pump?
Stang, Lazarus had a post on here, but i think it got screwed, he asked for more info and was asking if it was your stearing i think....
Anyway, i know what you mean i think. The shaft its self is warped and the wheel wobbles, makes banging sounds and such.... if no banging sounds, then its prolly just a bent wheel, but im thinkin its prolly like you said, whole shaft.
I was gonna try that once on the Elky i got, they said it can be done, just a pain in the *ss and since your shaft is fried (possibly) i think your better off just bleadin the lines and replacing the pump since if the shaft is bent, the wobble would cause the bearings to weaken and seals to leak eventually, better off in the long run i think. but hey, you know, whatever you think is best, just let us know what happens
I dont have experience on the 94 motor, (im assuming its V6?) but most pumps im sure are close to the same for Chevy.
Peace
