alright, basically i have a choice between 2 (of my own) project cars. my friend Terry (from team REVolutions) said a teammate has a 240sx, no motor or tranny for sale for $400. my cousin (dray45) said he would sell me his PGT too. im really really stuck. i love the 240sx cuz its RWD, which is something i have been craving since the lose of my TA. i love the PGT cuz they are rare and really freaking fast with some easy mods. the 240sx would not be drove until a SR20DET (or maybe even an RB motor) and this project would not be done for over a year (which i don't mind) but the probe is also a find. what do you guys think?? i really stuck and as of right now, really really really leaning towards the 240sx but am not sure if i wanna risk the lose of a good 1st gen PGT. (Probe GT, 4 cyc turbo, fwd, for those of us who don't share the passion for probes lol)

Definitely the 240. RWD....nuff said. Plus my buddy w/ his 89 240sx coupe w/ sr20det, fmic, turboback exhaust, filter, manual boost controller, w/ no LSD and 205's all around went 10.65@97 at Centerville a few weeks ago.

damn that is crazy. did he do the SR20DET swap himself along with the FMIC. this is gonna be a big project, and im really looking forward to doing a project car (im only 17, so this is a big step, this car would actually be the first car i buy with my own money) is the SR20DET swap hard?? i have the tools, the lifts, etc etc at my house to do the swap, but not lots of electronic experince. if i had to, id have vegas do the swap for me. also, how much would this run if i bought the motor for the swap (if vegas reads this or knows his going rate) and would he be able to do the wiring for the ecu. (the ecu wiring is really what scares me, i know the SR20 is a direct bolt in (or very close to it) and the ECU would be the most confusing part.) i have the knowledge of like a swap it self (putting the motor and tranny into place) but not the wiring.

The '89 Probe GT is Mazda motor/tranny, Mitsubishi turbo & turbo components & wiring & Ford body.

Performance-wise, the Probe is Mazda/Mitsubishi. Interior & Body-wise it is Ford.

I was searching for the post, but there is a guy with an '89 PGT 2.2L F2T motor running 13.5 on minimal mods.. It's not hard on a Probe, but the 1st gens require alot of custom fabrication, which is the funnest part. :w00t:

Centerville is a 1000' track but for those that don't know a 10.6 there is around a 12.8 or so in the 1/4, and yes he put everything in and did the complete swap himself.
