ive never heard of this sort of race... Good luck... what kinda of motor prepertations are you guys maken ? its obviously not a race of power but if your car can last the whole time

the motor is very strong. we are still able to do full clutch dump burn outs all the way up my street with it. :lol: so we really didnt do much motor prep with it because we have such a strong motor.

Got the exhaust put on at Razorback Muffler today. JJ knows what's up. Straight pipe is too loud though, so I'm taking her back next week for a muffler.

Love the vehicle choice. The fact you found a 88 legend that's 4door and 5spd is fawking awesome.

I think they have Lemons races everywhere every year I believe. You can always start planning for future ones. :thumbup:
The entire experience is going to cost a little more than I expected, but I've thought about it and decided that it's still well worth it. Can't fucking wait. I'll be sure to post some pictures.

So we ended up finishing 30th overall out of some 60 cars that started. We finished 5th in our class (Class B ). We went through 70gals of fuel, 6 sets of brake pads, 1.5 gals of oil, 1 set of brake rotors, and a broken wheel stud. The car only got hit once by a little Mazda MX-3 and it only left a small make of the tire on the front driver side quarter panel. For having a very stock car we did very well if you ask me. Next year we are planning on hitting two races. We are also working on getting a set of better brake pads that will last so we don't have to come in every 2 hours to change pads(but we do have that down to a science now) and we are also looking into getting some better springs and shocks, we are still under budget(only spent $300 of the $500 budget). I will post some pics and video from the weekend in a couple hours so keep watching for those!

Bump! Got the email today that we will be going back at the end of may for North Dallas Hoopties. This year its going to be the first race in the midwest that is straight 24 hours!
This year we are going to get two sets of EBC Yellow stuff brake pads, a good set or two of tires that are more sticky and a lighter set of wheels. I would like to still figure out someway to build brake ducts with the little room we have to work with from the front bumper and wheel wells.

Fuck yeah. What kinda wheels ya gonna get? Get something with thin and few spokes. Haha. Those steelies were trapping all that hot air in there hardcore.
