Hey guys, I just bought an 04 IS 300 but one of the previous owners lost the master key, you know, the one with the buttons on it. So i can't lock or unlock my car without using the ignition key. Also, the master key has the button for the trunk and is the only key that fits in the keyslot on the trunk, so i can only open my trunk by pulling the handle inside the car. It's just a minor inconveinance but i was wondering if anyone here had any tips or suggestions on how to remedy the problem without having to get another master key from lexus cause those are an A-load of money. Anyway, thanks.

there isnt any other way around it. you will have to call the dealer and give them your VIN number and more then likly once it comes in take the car down there so it can be programmed to the cars ECU. i had to do it with my Mitsu and yeah it sucked cause it was over 200 bucks i dont even wana know what lexus will charge

If your looking for a cheaper way around paying 200-300 bucks for a master key..
You could order one of those cheapo remote lock kits like this one.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Car-Remote-Control-Keyless-Entry-Door-Lock-Locking-Kit-/170699287511?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27be786bd7#ht_3384wt_1165
you can get em for like 20-30 bucks with 2 remotes.
then you wire it to the stock trunk popper and front door locks.
just a suggestion..
