Well, for those who do not already know, I bought a 2000 Black Supercharged 3.8L 240hp V6 Grand Prix GTP Coupe on Monday (7/26/04) This car is going to work great for the next months while I finish buying furniture for the new house, hopefully getting my "better/new" car in 6-8 months. I will still keep the GTP as my daily car... it's just too bad that I still don't have the firehawk <_<

Anyways, the car needs a little work and here is what I am doing:

1. replacing both headlight units - so I can see lol
2. replacing the driver's side cracked tail light
3. replacing the entire front bumper
4. change the supercharger fluid
5. needs new brakes within the next month or two
6. new tires (hopefully wheels too) within the next month or two

It's in my signiture, but parts should be arriving today and tomorrow and in the next 2 days I will install these parts:

1. 3.40 supercharger pulley with a modular pulley system
2. Wizaired CAI - supposedly the best you can buy
3. U-Bend Exhaust Delete
4. 180 Thermostat
5. colder plugs

And soon to come:

6. Intercooler + 2.8 Supercharger Pulley
7. TOG Headers

With those mods it should run about a 13.50 1/4 mile, maybe better if I had better tires! :w00t:

That's it for now, wish me luck with my project !

:2thumbsup:

Let me know if you need help. There's a ton you can do to the series 2 motor. Your ultimately limited by your transmission, around 300 horse. After that your imput shaft has a tendancey to snap. Can't heat treat it either. I can get you in the 13's pretty easy though, without that much money. There is another tranny for it, but a little expensive.

those are the exact rims that used to be on karen's camaro

TripleZero
Aug-3rd-04, 7:15 am
Tranny Limited to 300 Horse?! LOL Omg I can't believe someone told you this. The GTP has a HD (Heavy Duty) Transmission in it. I know you've been reading our forum a lot. Rarely trannys need to be replaced due to mods (Unless they're hardcore tranny mods) Don't listen to a Neon owner. Stick with the people who KNOW what they're talking about when it comes to GM
lol ... I always laugh when I see a neon

 shut your mouth, you dont know james, what he's had, or what he can do, you're awfully brave coming on to a forum and bad mouthing in your first post

james had a supercharged park avenue on the bottle, it wasnt slow

2quick4u
Aug-3rd-04, 2:28 pm
Well i called and talked to people all around the country as i was getting ready to rebuild my 3.8 but after my tranny going out and making many more calls i had all my parts heat-treated except the part that broke, which there is nothing i could do about it. Trust me, i called sources out of gm magazines, i loved that p.o.s. i had.

TripleZero
Aug-3rd-04, 6:02 pm
wow a supercharged land yaught on the bottle... Bottle is cheap horsepower for F&F kids who know nothing else. Check your GM sources again. AND part numbers to top it off on Grand prix transmissions. one even says HD. gah i love "know it alls"
And I don't care how brave you think I am. Forums are for opinions. My opinion is not to listen to a neon owner. Cause chryslers suck. You all can bash me all you want for my comments. Your Types mean nothing. But when you start trying to comment on a vehicle you know jack shit about.. Expect for someone to correct you. Plain and simple.

Well John is my buddy so i wouldnt tell him something if it wasnt true. Hd only holds an extra 20 horse, thats why in my opinion its not worth the money. On the other note, if you relly think you know what your talking about then come out in the open and tell us about yourself, ride, mods, etc. Even if you dont know, your still welcome to join us without making a flame war out of suggestions.

John, Nice car, I understand the feeling of "Wish I still had the Firehawk", 'cause I wish I still had the Cobra. Whether or not it is totaled is still up in the air. If I get the H2, I found a Whipple S/C kit for it. We will see, another sports car is not out of the question.
