Was it hard?? i did a swap back about 2 years ago (was terrible not performane just Carbed CRX motor to FI 86 civic, first rice) i kinda wanna find a CRX and start my own little project (i am FAR from anti rice, if i do do this, it will be SPEED not show, would like to go for low 14s all motor. when i was really into the Import Scene, i wanted a CRX with an H22)

14's are easy. With a CRX HF/SI, a JDM ZC, lower compression forged pistons & post/pinning the block, and a homemade turbo kit, you can achieve mid 13's easily. Let me know if you're interested!

sounds cool. what all did you have to change out (other than motor, ecu, and stuff like that) like hubs and stuff like that??

It was relatively easy, you just have to modify the stock distributor to go on the Z6 head, and I used an MSD RPM Switch for VTEC activation, rather than the expensive PR3 or PW0 OBD0 VTEC ECU's w/ the Hasport VTEC subharness. I will be doing that eventually, but I have a perfectly good Mugen spec PR4 Nonvtec ECU. I have an HF, so I will eventually replace the front hubs and axles to the larger Si/DX model. Stay Tuned!

wow i am super confused lol. i know what HF and Si are but the rest is greek to me. i hope i can find one soon for almost nothing (just get an old ragged out one, swap motors, and the rest will get done in time.) thanks for the info and i look forward to seeing it sometime.

The DX and Standard models are Dual point fuel injection, which means the harness on the motor only has wiring to accomodate the two injectors. Si and HF are Multi Point FI, which has 4 injectors..... My car is an HF, my motor has the DX harness on it. So the connector plug at my ECU is wired different than that of the DX, thus, I need the HF or Si engine harness. Once I get it, it will run, and I can do some tuning and break in the motor, then put on the boost..... Muwahaha

Anywho, if you want a nice car, my friend Alex in tulsa has a Black CRX Si, its eather a 90 or 91, and he's asking $2750.

ahh now that makes sense. thanks for the explanation. the CRX sounds like a good deal but i totaled my last car and am currently having to make payments to my 'rents $100 a month for my current car and the totaled one. gotta get a job first. if i had the money, i would more than likely buy it, but i can't cuz i have no money lol.

You have too much damn money :P.

DOHC ZC - $800 with tranny and ECU
forged pistons - $500
junkyard turbo setup - $500-750
block work depends on where you go, but its triple digits

To hit mid 13's, you may need some slicks or drag radials. Just for insurance too, upgrade your clutch. A couple 13.5 runs will ruin a worn out OEM clutch. Not that mid 13's is unrealistic for a ZC-T, but you'll need more than all motor stuff. Spinning through first and half of second gears will add a bit of time.

If I end up putting a turbo on my ZC hatch, with the work I plan on having done to it, I'll expect high-mid 14's. Intercooled T3/T4 from a Drag Gen2 mani, 3" exhaust, 450cc injectors, full port and polish, SAFC, block balanced, ACT stage 3 clutch, and running on 10-12psi. I have DA Integra suspension that is very very stiff, and some near bald Douglas GT-H tires on the front :).

Anyways, sorry for the long schpeal, but I thought I would just put in my $.02. What engine did you put in your CRX? Z6? It looks good, it'll look better once you have your front assembly back on :). My hatchy is looking like that right now.

Block: D16Y8 Block, Aluminum Oil Pan, Stock Crank (Balanced, Knife Edged, Micropolished), Eagle Aluminum Rods w/ ARP Studs, Arias 8.8:1 Forged Pistons

there is one part thats not all the way true about that...terence has a b16 in his hatchback and its completely stock and it runs a 14.3 in the 1/4. thats pretty damn quick for all stock/all motor. if he would have had his drag slicks last weekend he woulda broke into the 13's. caleb in his rx7 ran only 14 flat(no offence caleb)

I sense horse dookey somewhere.... First off, what year is Terence's B16? The blue Jotech CRX runs 14 flat with the B16A2 (2nd generation B16A) with either a 50 or 75 shot on it. I don't think his car would be just 3 tenths quicker with a 50 shot on it. Maybe I'm just paranoid. On HT I've always heard B16 EFs getting 14.5 with I/H/E (intake header and exhaust)... I dunno.

Haha, No, I'm not serious. I told some guy that I sold my car for $4500. Hahahaha I8AYELLOWCRAYON, my car should be somewhat done by the middle of april, the way it looks now. It will run, but there is a LOT more I'm going to do to it. I've got to break in the motor also, so that will take a while....

On another note, I'm not one to call someone a liar, but I'm w/ the other guys on this. Terrances car is heavy when its gutted still. My friend Henrix w/ the Blue Jotech CRX w/ the B16A2 ran a 14.4 w/ a 65 shot, and he is indeed a good driver. He has I/H/E as well. I can't honestly believe a 14.3 in that heavy car w/ a stock B16 until I see a timeslip. If things go as planned, I'll be WAAAAAAY faster than a 14.3. ;)

Hey DrewGray, told ya I had a CRX w/ a Built SOHC Turbo! :D

k...my fault....he does have exhaust.....other than that completely stock motor....stock headers stock intake stock internals. Its a JDM B16 motor. with lsd.

His car is an '00 when I said stock I meant stock motor. His interior is completely gutted and he has exhaust. those are his only mods. other than he has stock hx wheels that are painted on there. No nitrous, non turbo, no forced induction anywhere. nothin is done TO THE ENGINE his exhaust doesnt really do much for him seein as how its just a muffler or axel back(not sure)....where are you gonna be sometime and Ill show you the video.

Do you know if Terance has done any valve tuning or anything to it, because I've heard he's quite the tuner..... Didn't really take that into consideration... Its not that I don't beleive you guys telling me that he ran those times, its that I just can't fathom a STOCK (plus exhaust, thanks Craig :thumbup:) pulling a 14.3. Although HX rims and LSD do help. I dunno.

I do remember getting the phone call when it was stolen in Tx but havent seen him since the party right before. and why the crap is gary's car not finished? :rant: it was supposed to be 2 months, its been 3 and the engine isnt even built, and alex keeps putting USED parts on gary's engine, gary finally told him to stop doing it, he said he'd put up with the used turbo & manifold, but when he tried to put something used on the internal side of the block gary got mad as hell

It will be really purring by July 17th, oh man. I'll have my Edelbrock intake manifold, new FPR, 72mm Throttle body, and LOTS of dyno tuning done by then.... We are expecting no less than 350 to the wheels right now. I want to eventually break 400hp w/ no more than 24lbs of boost.

No sir, this is my daily driver, its gonna be quick. I dont' like those wheels, I have 15" Rota Circuit 8's on it. I'm gonna get JDM mirrors, complete carbon fiber lip kit, carbon fiber hood, and JDM recaro seats w/ bride or takata harnesses.... I will take you for a ride, no problem bro!!!

Its all good, it will indeed be my daily driver, I have been carless for a year and a half so I could dump money into this project, its not going to be a weekend warrior. Haha I will be everywhere with it. :D

i dunno, if it is, i dunno what the hell i am talking about, it just worried us cuz we cant see the manifold cuz its wrapped, so we dont know how good it is, i did like the fact that is was equal length and went straight (except for where they bent it to make it equal length) instead of twisting like some others i've seen, from what i know that would be better..........but i really dont know crap <_<

No sir, that would be my friend Zach's car.... He works at meeks. His car is VERY similar to mine though. We finished his FMIC install and re-cut the front bumper, then blocked it and grinded down the low spots, sunday I'm going to fill the dents and try to get everything as straight as possible.....
