My friend has a 98 Honda Civic EX with 115,xxx miles, VTEC 1.6 ltr
Installed Gready 3-2-1 header and cat back system. The Computer was detecting too many exhaust problems so i built some devices to mask the sensor signals, everything worked Great then the A/C pump blew up.
We recently installed a "Modded" OBD I Computer (the one im looking for) and it reduces signal from a few of the problematic sensors onboard.
A new A/C Pump has been installed but now (even with the OBD II) the car majorly vibrates intermittenly... the power cuts out as well when the A/C is on and when at idle about 650 rpm. New Engine mounts have been installed as well.
A couple people have described it as a wire grounding out every once in a while. I cant find any issues with it and dont have too much experience on Honda's.
I was thinking it could have something to do with the Idle control circuits or possibly low compression in a cylinder. We havent really been worried too much about it but now that there is more honda guys on here, you may have an answer.
The old OBD II computer caused the headlights and dash lights to dim and flash intermittenly as well, everything is great with this OBD I.
Thanks - hope there's enough info there.
