I noticed that when i went up to branson that the songs put out like 5x the bass on the radio as the same ones do here. ex. they were playing freak a leek and i had to turn my bass down way past half. Then i heard it once i was back in rogers and i had to turn my bass back up and the volume up some too. So whats up with that?

The radio stations here suck ass is whats up with that. Or my opinion with no fact behind it.
I assume radio stations can control the amount of bass they transmit by using equilizers before it is broadcast. IDK but it makes since to me
Do you know what station it was or who runs it/owns it?
I suppose it would depend on the actual station affiliates as to how much audio processing is done to the signal prior to broadcast. On the other hand, the station may not know they are intentionally broadcasting a higher db of Bass because of a lack of comparison.
Stereo enhancement is done at almost all stations. They usually can control where they want it (L+R/L-R and which channels) but it really depends on their processors. Stations enhance their broadcast to make the signal stand out more when the listeners turn up the volume.
The types of processors in the audio pre-emphasis equipment could determine the output quality. Lowend chips mixed with highend quality devices would cause all kinds of problems since they are made in different areas where transmittion specs vary. Altho there is a standard in specs there isnt in chip design.
It is prolly most likely just low equalization which has two purposes in a station broadcast. The first is to establish a signature for a given radio station that brands the station by creating a "house sound." The second purpose is to compensate for the frequency contouring caused by the multiband dynamics processing and high frequency limiting.
I suppose if you had a problem with the broadcast bass levels you could write or contact the chief engineer, the programming director, and the general manager who would all need to be notified to be able to adjust the quality.
Not that anyone would want to but just in case someone wants to know. ^_^

Yea, the stations here do suck, I barely get a lot of them with my head unit, they transmit crappy signals. It sucks and pisses me off. But nothin to do about it realyy. I just put in CDs and it makes it all better. :D

very expensive and the best quality you can get is MP3 cd quality and if you don't do that all you have is the radio stations.

i dunno what y'all are complainin about, I get awesome radio reception and stereo sound, for my ears, from my stock head unit. I can also get some bumpin bass when those songs are on. :dunno:

The stock head units pick up frequencies better than aftermarket.
